Jesse used to imagine what would happen if Noble were still alive and they met again. Maybe he'd be angry. Maybe he'd let go of the past. But when they really did meet again a few years later, Jesse just listened in silence.

Noble said, "I lost my little sister."

The main story is complete. I'll spend a week or two revising it, then post the bonus chapters.

1. This is my take on High & Low, and the plot has been significantly changed. The male lead is Jesse.

2. The heroine disguises herself as a man, a trope I love. For a long stretch, she's referred to as "he." As an adult, her fighting ability is weaker than Tsutomu and stronger than Genji. She has all sorts of cheat skills in private. The heroine is stronger than Jesse.

3. Bad writing, a plot that doesn't stand up to scrutiny, out-of-character portrayals, and a cheesy romance. I'm writing for my own enjoyment.

4. The heroine is a devoted big sister. If she has to choose between her little sister and the male lead, she'll always choose her sister. There are original characters.

5. The heroine in a nutshell: "I'm so clueless." That's an act. "I'm so strong." That's true.

6. The heroine's profile: 170 cm tall, with visible abs, fiercely protective, and strong enough to carry someone bridal-style.
