After a car accident, Ji Manxi transmigrated into the body of a minor celebrity and was bound to a Redemption System.
The System told Ji Manxi that her world was actually a novel about a lucky heroine who lies flat and is doted on by everyone. She was the top tycoon in the book, paralyzed from the waist down, and a super sucker who gave the heroine money and resources after mistaking her for her savior.
Ji Manxi asked, "Then who is my savior?"
The System replied, "The villain."
"Since you're the only person who has ever shown the villain kindness, the mainframe decided to bind me to a Host and send me to redeem the villain."
"Don't worry, Host. I'll help you complete your mission every step of the way. Your reward will be the restoration of your body, guaranteed safe and sound."
Ji Manxi: "What about the villain?"
Redemption System: "The owner of the body you're in right now."
Ji Manxi: "...So the villain is me???"
Rong Luyuan noticed that, starting from some day he couldn't pinpoint, food in the fridge would suddenly disappear, and his phone and computer would be fully charged when he woke up. Confused, he installed cameras around the house, only to discover that he got up in the middle of the night to sneak food, watch things, and play games.
For the first time in his twenty-something years of life, he discovered that he sleepwalked.
Rong Luyuan went three days without sleep, put away every dangerous object, and had his assistant take away his phone, computer, and TV. That night, a voice sounded in his mind.
"Hello, hello, can you hear me? Let me introduce myself. I'm... Lu Manman, your... second personality."
A second personality? So he really had gone crazy.
The voice in his head kept chattering: "Even though you've already had dinner, could you save me a little food? And could you leave me a phone, too? I'll pay you back when I make money. By the way, I do only come out after you fall asleep, but staying awake for three days and nights will really kill you. I suggest you get some sleep. Or maybe we can work out a sleep schedule?"
She ended by saying, "I'm the person in the world who wants the best for you most. You have to believe me."
Rong Luyuan said, "I don't believe you. I'll definitely kill you."
Can someone fall in love with their own second personality?
A normal person wouldn't, but he's a madman, and he'll fall in love with his second personality. So when the voice in his head disappears, he'll stop at nothing to find her.
PS:
The villain has a secret: he's actually reborn.
PPS:
The System has a secret, too. There are a few little problems with its work, but nothing major. It has its own rhythm.
