Scabbard

I met Xia Ying when I was at my most dazzling, at eighteen.

Ten years later,

when I was at my most ordinary, at twenty-eight, I lost him for good.

A short story with dual perspectives and a bad ending. Read with caution if that bothers you. This installment is from the top's perspective.

Xia Ying's (the bottom's) perspective, "The Dagger," is complete.

Be sure to read both stories together. Reading either one alone is as good as not reading it at all.

The author recommends reading "The Dagger" first.
