Blurb:
He Wenqi once had a crush on his childhood friend and neighbor.
The other boy helped him with his homework;
warmed his bed for him in winter, tucking his cold hands and feet into his arms;
carried him all the way home on rainy days when he didn't want to get his shoes wet;
and peeled crawfish for him, even eating the food he picked out and refused to eat...
They went to school, ate, and slept together until the other boy left to attend university in another province.
After graduating from high school, He Wenqi excitedly took his university admission letter and rushed to the city where the other boy lived.
"Brother Ji, the university I got into is in the same city as yours. Can we be together?"
"I don't like men," Han Ji said, then accepted a female classmate's confession.
It turned out He Wenqi had imagined the whole thing.
He deleted all of the other boy's contact information.
-
Four years later, Han Ji saw He Wenqi again, in a video sent by a friend.
Even with a lace eye mask covering half his face, Han Ji recognized him at once.
The person he had searched for in vain for years was now entertaining others on a nightclub stage.
Burning with jealousy, Han Ji rushed over from the airport and cornered him, demanding coldly:
"Why are you in a place like this? You're not allowed to come here again."
He Wenqi looked up at him, his gaze distant. "Han Ji, we're not close. What gives you the right to control me?"
The next day, He Wenqi's company issued a strange, overbearing new rule: employees were forbidden from going to nightclubs.
-
The new president arrived at the company a month ahead of schedule, catching everyone off guard.
Soon, everyone noticed that this impossibly difficult boss especially loved tormenting He Wenqi, the intern who hadn't yet been made a full-time employee.
"You don't have enough work. Come be my assistant too."
"Order my meals to my taste. Get it wrong and I'll dock your pay."
"We have to finalize a proposal with a client tomorrow. Stay tonight and organize the documents. You can't leave without my permission."
After working through the night, He Wenqi was so exhausted he fell asleep over his desk. When he woke with a start, he found Han Ji stealing a kiss...
-
Later,
Han Ji held him close on the rooftop, kissing him again and again beneath the New Year's fireworks bursting across the sky.
He Wenqi's eyes were red and damp, his voice broken. "Didn't you say you didn't like men?"
"Mm, I don't," Han Ji said, placing a scorching kiss on the tip of his nose with utmost tenderness. "I only like you."

Upcoming novel: Officer Lu and Doctor Xue Get Back Together
▌Blunt and tough, the police academy's star student vs. composed and reserved medical prodigy
▌Doctor is the pursuer | Six-year age gap, older man | Reuniting after a breakup | Both virgins, one-on-one romance, happy ending
When he was nineteen, Lu Huiyuan leaned over the medical school wall and whistled at Xue Lianzhi as he passed by. "Hey, senior, want to date? I'm tough and obedient."
Back then, he was passionate and direct, determined to melt the iceberg that was Xue Lianzhi.
But the iceberg's heart was as deep as the sea.
Lu Huiyuan wanted a promise, wanted a response, but all Xue Lianzhi offered was silent devotion.
On the eve of graduation, Lu Huiyuan tore up their photo. Looking at Xue Lianzhi's unruffled eyes, his heart turned to ash. "You go chase your future, and I'll uphold justice. We're even."
-
Seven years later, the two reunited in a city police task force investigating a vicious crime.
At opposite ends of the conference table,
Lu Huiyuan's police uniform concealed his sharp edge. He was the youngest head of a criminal investigation squad in the department.
Xue Lianzhi wore a spotless white shirt and was a renowned medical authority in his field.
They were polite and distant.
"Professor Xue, I've heard a great deal about you."
"Captain Lu, the pleasure is mine."
They refused to yield to each other.
"Professor Xue, please analyze this from a professional perspective."
"Captain Lu, your operational plan carries serious risks. I don't agree."
-
Everyone in the department thought the two of them didn't get along. They clashed at meetings and sat at least three tables apart in the cafeteria.
No one noticed that
Xue Lianzhi was always checking Lu Huiyuan's safety from the corner of his eye,
while Lu Huiyuan always let a second of longing show after Xue Lianzhi turned away.
When communications went dead during a mission, Xue Lianzhi lost his composure and roared, "Lu Huiyuan, answer me!"
Static crackled through the radio, followed by a breathless laugh. "...What's the panic? I'm not dead yet."
In the ink-black night, two figures intertwined.
Xue Lianzhi tenderly traced the new scar on his shoulder blade. His usually calm voice was rough with burning emotion. "Back then, you said we were even..."
Lu Huiyuan shuddered all over, then opened his mouth and bit hard into Xue Lianzhi's shoulder, his eyes burning with a flame that had never gone out in seven years.
Xue Lianzhi winced in pain but held him even tighter. "But the rest of my life has belonged to you all along." His kiss fell, stealing their breath. "Sentence me to life, Captain Lu."

Theme: Hold on to your dreams and never give up, and something wonderful will find you when you least expect it
What happened? I didn't finish college. Damn it. There is this setting. If you are short of money, you can take a leave of absence or take out a loan. As long as you want to study in a key university, the school will find a way. Damn it, I hate this setting. Damn it, because I didn't go to a key university. I feel heartbroken.
? It's a bit old-fashioned, full of drugs, and feels like a nightclub
I felt really bad when I saw it. I couldn't think of any reason why I could change my double first-class education to a junior college. Could it be family reasons? It's impossible for someone to be impersonated, right?
Is this the only company in the world?
Why does it feel a bit cruel? I really hope Shou Shou and Gong can explain it clearly. At least let Gong know that he didn't receive the bracelet.
If my guess is correct, this inhuman thing should appear again later.
This article will be updated every other day, so don't worry. There is a pre-collection next door, which can be turned over, thank you.
