The Heroine Only Wants to Break Her Karmic Love Trial

My next novel, Whatever, I'll Just Load a Save, opens on February 22. Please add it to your collection!

Shen Tao divined that she was destined to face a tribulation of love.

To seek the Great Dao, she casually rescued a young man from the jaws of a powerful demon.

She taught him about the ways of the world and how to cultivate, and by her own efforts, helped him become the young sect master of the greatest sect in the immortal world.

Once the young man had gained status, he also acquired a fiancée from a family of equal standing.

By day, he humored Shen Tao with false affection. Then he turned around and tried to trick her into jumping from the Heavenly Punishment Platform.

The young man knew only that a gigantic furnace lay beneath the platform. If someone threw themselves onto a sword with a heart full of love, it could be forged into a divine sword.

What he didn't know was that this was exactly what Shen Tao wanted.

She would die for love, break through her attachment, and attain the Dao. With a smile on her face, Shen Tao jumped.

To her surprise, when she opened her eyes, she was back where it all began.

Something must have gone wrong. Maybe she had never fallen in love with him, so it hadn't counted as a tribulation of love.

With a dark expression, Shen Tao faced the young man's remorseful, almost obsessive gaze. She kicked him away and turned to the demon beside him.

"This one won't do. I'll take you instead."

"Find a way to make me fall in love with you, or I'll send you to your grave."

Yun Mi was trapped inside an unfamiliar xianxia game.

She remembered that the opening screen had offered two choices:

"Save him" or "Save yourself."

Yun Mi thought she had no flaws besides her temper.

So she chose to save him.

Her target was a tragic, beautiful villain who was brutally oppressed in the early game, became twisted and went on a rampage in the later game, and ultimately fell into the Abyss, doomed to darkness forever.

Yun Mi was pleased with her choice and happily approached him, hoping to help him by saving him.

But her gentle approach couldn't warm his heart.

All she got was an attempt on her life and a sneering, "Who do you think you are?"

Yun Mi was so furious her head hurt. She killed herself on his sword. "To hell with you! Live or die, I don't care. I'll load a save and come back to kill you!"

From the male lead's perspective:

Yan Yue was born a demon seed. Everyone hated and abandoned him, and only one person loved him.

He thought he would give her the best the world had to offer.

Later, he took the throne, became a Demon God, and cut down his enemies with his sword.

Then he saw the woman he loved catch his sword barehanded and kneel before a monk. "If he dies, I die."

Only then did he realize that he was nothing but a stepping stone she used to get close to someone else.

He couldn't accept it. He insisted on keeping her by his side, trying to cage the moon.

He reversed time and returned to the past.

That woman came toward him just as she had in his previous life, but her gaze passed right over him.

This time, she didn't save him.

#Yan Yue: Oh no! After his redemption failed, my wife started cultivating the Unfeeling Dao!

Reader's guide:

1. The heroine doesn't love her ex-boyfriend.

2. My own take on fantasy. There's a plot, but the focus is more on the romance. Happy ending.

3. I started writing because I love this idea. I'm letting myself have fun with it, and I hope you enjoy reading it too.

4. There are countless great novels on Jinjiang. If this isn't working for you, just pick another one. Let's all be civil; keeping Jinjiang harmonious is everyone's responsibility.

5. Thanks to Cinian for permission to use the cover.
