Craving Sweetheart

The Great Yan Empire is beset by turmoil, with a hostile neighbor at its borders, watching like a tiger poised to pounce.

The gentle, helpless fallen noblewoman Sun Fu Zhao is forced into a political marriage with Yelv Qi, regent of Eastern Liao.

Before the marriage, Sun Fu Zhao has never met Yelv Qi.

She has only heard that the regent is ruthless,

that in court he can turn the tide with a wave of his hand, seize power, and eliminate his opponents,

and that on the battlefield he is a god of war feared across the land, decisive and undefeated.

Fu Zhao is terrified. But on their very first day of marriage, the handsome, imposing man from the northern tribes completely overturns her expectations.

Women in Great Yan must be virtuous and stay indoors, never showing themselves in public.

But Yelv Qi sweeps Fu Zhao onto a horse and gallops off with her.

Women in Great Yan are inferior to men and must not have a say in family or state affairs.

But Yelv Qi points to a map of Eastern Liao's border passes and discusses his ideals for governing the country with Fu Zhao.

Women in Great Yan must be reserved and modest, especially in bed, where they must not make a sound.

But every night, Yelv Qi comes up with new ways to make Fu Zhao bite her fingers and cry out loud.
