Little Liar

The third year after Zhou Yi came down from the mountain, he met a little liar.

The little liar knew she was beautiful. Everything about her was soft except her heart, and lies came easily to her.

She said, "Zhou Yi, take me with you. I promise I won't be any trouble."

She also said, "Zhou Yi, I lie to people everywhere, but I'd never lie to you."

Later, she said, "Zhou Yi, there's a custom in my hometown: if you've touched my hand, you have to marry me."

Until that spring, when peach blossoms covered the hills.

Her final words were, "Zhou Yi, I've never loved you."

I long to buy osmanthus wine and drink it with you, but it will never be like those carefree days of youth.
