How to Play the Tragic Heroine

Li Wanxue transmigrates into a book, in a very exciting role: the heroine of an angst novel.

Even more exciting, the original heroine isn't dead. She's a lunatic who kills without batting an eye, and whenever she surfaces after losing her struggle for control of their body, she goes on a rampage.

And even more exciting: the original heroine isn't a proper angst-novel heroine. She's a hired assassin.

A life this exciting shouldn't be her responsibility.

Li Wanxue tries to refuse the original novel's second male lead, who is also the villain, saying she doesn't want to take the job.

Then he kills her.

Blood sprays three feet, and she dies with her eyes open.

After crawling out of her coffin, she smiles, accepts the commission, and begins her career as an actress.

According to the original story, the heroine comes from a hidden sect. She falls in love with the male lead, Li Su, at first sight, conceals her brilliance, and willingly becomes the woman behind him. Later, she discovers that he has a deceased first love who looks exactly like her. Despairing, she prepares to take up her responsibilities again, only for the male lead to mistake her for a demon and run her through with his sword.

After the obsessive second male lead brings her back to life, the heroine loses her memories and becomes caught in a chaotic love triangle with the male lead and the second male lead. In the end, she sacrifices herself for all living beings, reaching a bad ending.

The reality: Li Wanxue has no sect and no past. Her original self really was a demon. The male lead's first love is nowhere to be seen, and all living beings seem to be doing just fine.

She gets it: she's even got to create the story's setting herself!

In her first month on the job, Li Wanxue joins a big family, then watches them all die in no time. Only her younger brother remains, and the two of them cling to life under the male lead's protection.

In her second month, Li Wanxue invents a long-lost twin sister and a hidden sect that has guarded a perilous pass for the sake of all living beings. She kicks the second male lead off a cliff, then fakes her own death.

In her third month, Li Wanxue changes her name to Li Wanxue, becomes her own stand-in, and torments the male lead until his heart is torn apart. He'd rather betray the whole world than deny her a home.

In the fourth month, the male lead kills her for the sake of all living beings, and his hair turns white overnight.

In the eleventh month, Li Wanxue, "brought back to life," walks down the street and passes the male lead.

In the twelfth month, Li Wanxue ties the male lead and the second male lead to a sacrificial ritual array.

PS: 1. To avoid harming innocent people, the heroine's romantic partner is her employer. They spend more time trying to kill each other than falling in love, and they may not end up together.

2. The heroine has unlimited extra lives. She's not in a good state of mind and sometimes goes crazy.
