The Crown Princess Keeps Tricking People into Working for Her

Complete. Former title: My Fiancee Became Emperor Behind My Back. Next story: On the Compatibility of a Magic System and Cultivation Blurb: When Xiao Yun transmigrated into the body of a prince who was actually a woman in disguise, she was overjoyed. When she discovered she was the doomed crown prince of a former dynasty who dies horribly in the novel, she gathered up her valuables and raced out as fast as she could, only to find the city walls in ruins and the fires still burning. She wanted to save the world, but had neither money nor people. Clutching the script of A Love That Topples a Nation: Tears of a Beauty in Troubled Times, Xiao Yun decided to recruit every talented person she met to work for her before the plot got too far along. To the unlucky rich fool who kept paying for everything and getting looked down on: Xiao Yun: “Invest in me, and I’ll make your dream of becoming one of the Three Dukes come true.” To the heroine’s legitimate older sister, who was bent on becoming empress and would stop at nothing: Xiao Yun: “Enough with the household scheming. Take good care of your younger sister, and I’ll show you what real power struggles look like.” To the upright, courageous general who happened to serve a villainous family: Xiao Yun: “Everyone’s dead. Think of the brothers under your command, and your daughter who’s been missing for years. You need a whole new job so you can help them!” Xiao Yun’s plans all went extremely well. She even managed to trick the eldest young master of the Xie family, someone even the novel’s male lead couldn’t win over. She got the talented man and his good looks, a string of younger brothers, and a generous dowry all in one go. All it took was a noblewoman’s secret identity, a romance that was a delight to the heart and senses, and the declaration, “My family won’t let me marry someone from out of town. The groom needs a household registration in the capital and a government post.” The male lead’s perspective: The eldest young master of the Xie family had the talent to govern the world, yet he was over twenty and still held no official position. The imperial clan was weak, and the world was on the verge of chaos. He had no wish to get involved. He only wanted to protect his family and keep them safe. But the woman he loved clasped his hand and said through tearful eyes, “My family won’t let me marry outside the capital. They require the groom to have a household registration and property here, and to be a civil servant... I mean, he needs to hold some kind of official position.” Before he could make a decision, she left behind a betrothal token, saying she would fight her family to the end, then vanished without a trace. Unwilling to make her become estranged from her family for his sake, he finally agreed to enter government service and boarded a carriage bound for the capital. On the day he attended court for the first time, Xie You was astonished to discover that the young emperor seated high on the dragon throne had a face exactly like that of his fiancee. ps: 1.
