A Cliched Story

· A short bad-ending story, but nobody dies

· Secretly scheming x sunny, loyal puppy

[1]

Lin Xiyun is the top student at Yicheng High School.

In the eyes of the students in Class 7, Senior Year, she's eccentric and a cold, heartless study machine.

Chen Yi, meanwhile, is the universally acknowledged sunny heartthrob,

with a smile that seems to come naturally and the ability to brighten everyone's day.

They've been classmates for two years without exchanging a single word.

Their first encounter was because of a cat.

Chen Yi's friend got him to spout nonsense, and she helped him out of it.

Their second encounter was also because of a cat.

A top student beat up Chen Yi for mistreating a cat, then turned around and accused Chen Yi of doing it.

She took photos to clear his name, and had her phone confiscated.

After that, Chen Yi was always hanging around her.

So she made him her pawn, making the sun fret over her and become the sun that shone for her alone.

August 18. Clear skies, no wind.

In the dim classroom, Chen Yi fell for her, willingly stepping into her game.

Later, he realized that when it came to falling for Lin Xiyun, it was either zero times or countless times.

A sudden burst of inspiration made him write down some cringey lines.

Lin Xiyun corrected his spelling and wrote a sincere reply on the back of the note.

On the day of the arts festival, his performance was suddenly canceled, costing him his first chance to take the stage.

After evening study, the classroom was filled with a sea of glow sticks. The cheers grew louder and louder, and Lin Xiyun gave him a concert of his own.

It's just that he never knew he couldn't have both his dream and her.
