Chen Shi is an unlucky male college student. When the apocalypse arrives, everyone else awakens supernatural powers, but after being abandoned, he turns into a zombie.
The apocalypse brings twisted humanity and collapsed morals. Mercenary squads shoot one little zombie after another. It's terrifying.
Humans are so vicious. Chen Shi is scared, so he keeps his head down. He does that for five whole years.
One day, he goes out for a walk. A mercenary shoots the zombie friend beside him, then walks up with his gun raised. "Kid, what are you doing wandering around here? Do you know what kind of place this is?"
"W-what kind of place...?" Chen Shi breaks into a cold sweat.
"This is the infamous Devil's Den, the Zombie King's lair!" The mercenary pats his shoulder. "If you hadn't run into me, the zombies would've eaten you already!"
I-is it really that scary...?
Chen Shi is terrified in hindsight. Have I really been living in such a terrifying place all this time?! It's an absolute miracle I haven't been eaten by the Zombie King! My luck stat must be MAX!
The mercenary "rescues" him and says he'll take him back to the safe zone.
Chen Shi is utterly speechless. He doesn't want to live with the scary Zombie King, but he wants even less to go back to some safe zone with this guy! Does he want to die or something?
After escaping from the mercenary camp and making it back, he hurriedly asks his zombie friends: Do you know there's a Zombie King around here? The really terrifying kind?
The zombies are speechless. Does he hear himself?
"Why are you all looking at me? Is there something on my face?"
