A Witch's Rules

Witch Hunt Rules:

Whenever a witch hunt begins, there will be exactly three witches in the village.

After nightfall, the witches will hunt innocent villagers and cast curses on them, making them accomplices.

Before sunset each day, the priest may bestow a "blessing" on any villager.

At sunrise each day, the priest may make an "accusation" against any villager.

After seven days, the gods will cast their gaze upon the village. If every witch is dead, the "barrier" will be lifted. If any "witches" remain, divine punishment will descend.

"There were no witches in this world to begin with. But once enough girls had been burned at the stake, witches were born from their suffering."

The witch hunt had raged for nearly a century, and flames were spreading across the continent when the first "witch" finally appeared in the world.

The Eternal Stone, sealed deep within the White Tower, was stolen. They said a witch had seduced the Chief Mage and stolen it.

The holy statue at the heart of the Church shattered. They said an evil witch had angered the gods and defiled it.

The kingdom's lands became a thousand miles of scorched earth. They said it was the witches.

The witches.

And the witch stood high in the sky, happily surveying the continent she regarded as her own.

The Church's sky island and the endless Holy City would make a wonderful cat tree for her "cat."
