A Guide to Online Class Disasters

A short practice piece, updated whenever inspiration strikes

On the first day of college, Qi Miao suffered the ultimate social death.

She had forgotten to turn off her camera during an online class. When the teacher called on someone to answer a question, the whole meeting saw her gnawing on fried chicken with a terrifying expression.

Only when new messages started popping up one after another on her phone, their notifications drowning out the short video she was watching, did Qi Miao finally open them.

A row of red dots filled her message list.

Friend 1: Girl, your camera's still on!

Friend 2: You're gonna make me laugh myself rich. The teacher's face has gone black hahaha.

Only then did Qi Miao realize what had happened. She scrambled to turn off her camera.

The shared screen went dark, and Mo Ming's face appeared reflected on her computer screen.

Qi Miao hadn't even turned on her mic, so why could Mo Ming hear her voice going on and on: "Wifey, come cuddle?"

And that photo that had flashed across the video just now was clearly the portrait she'd taken over summer break.

Little tips:

1. A scheming beauty who makes videos and a self-important, looks-obsessed, chuuni fan.

2. 1v1 + HE, college campus, short and sweet. Expected to be under 100,000 words.

3. Mindless writing, rambling diary-style prose, and the everyday madness of college students. Don't look for logic.
