A Jue was born the daughter of the Ning family. But after nearly drowning, her soul unexpectedly left her body. She could only watch as a soul from another world used her body and stole her family and love.
She thought she'd spend her whole life watching an impostor take over her life. Then, six years later, just three days before the impostor's wedding, A Jue suddenly returned to her body.
Unfortunately, everyone seemed to prefer that other soul. Her parents were even discussing hiring a Daoist priest to summon her spirit.
So A Jue ran away.
She abandoned her name and set out on the dangerous path of seeking immortality, all for the marrow-cleansing pill she could obtain after joining an immortal sect. She hoped it would erase every trace of someone else from her body and soul.
But after she had struggled all the way to the Ascension Gate, the immortal realm turned her away and told her not to covet what wasn't hers.
A Jue sneered and chose to enter the Netherworld and sleep forever.
Who knew she would meet the person who changed her fate?
Ming Chu fought on the immortal realm's battlefields for centuries, only to be betrayed when peace came and sealed away in the Netherworld as a living dead man.
He had spent hundreds of years in the sunless Netherworld, where only the dead resided, and had long since despaired of the world. Then, by chance, he brought home a flower.
Ming Chu cherished the flower in his heart and doted on her with all he had.
Blunt when she speaks? That's called being honest and straightforward, much better than people who say one thing and mean another!
Unfair and impulsive? With him protecting her, his flower deserves to live as freely as she likes!
He'd only wanted to live out the rest of his days in peace with his flower. But the Celestial Realm feared he would seek revenge and came to bother him again and again.
Then a woman appeared out of nowhere, claiming to be his flower's reincarnation and urging him to devote himself to goodness.
That wouldn't do. What if she frightened his flower?
Ming Chu was fretting over how to hide a great battle from his flower when he turned and saw A Jue holding a weapon, itching for a fight. "Are we going to battle? When do we go in?"
