An Ordinary Student, but Saving the World

Cheng Xiao is an ordinary high school student: quiet, well-behaved, unremarkable, and always an invisible presence in the corner.

The only unusual thing about her is probably that her deskmate is a top student who shines wherever he goes.

They can't stand each other, but their teacher orders him to help her study.

So, to the envy of their classmates, she ends up with twice the homework.

Cheng Xiao writes until her hands shake every day, and then, at night...

With three buttons undone on her school shirt, the girl moves with wild, reckless abandon, impatience written all over her delicate face.

She clamps one hand around a monster's throat and, expressionless, smashes its skull with a single punch.

In the cloying darkness, Cheng Xiao flexes her fingers, annoyed. "Your dad's already exhausted from studying, and now I have to save the world, too."

As a member of the Special Operations Team, Ye Chen keeps up the image of a model student by day and works hard killing monsters by night. Annoying his deskmate is probably the only fun in his "boring" life.

His deskmate is such an interesting person. She looks like a well-behaved girl, but always wears an expression that says, "I don't want to live anymore."

It's just school. Is it really that stressful?

Ye Chen was very curious, so he gave her even more exercises.

Then one night, he saw his quiet, well-behaved deskmate crush the head of a monster bigger than she was with one hand, muttering about how exhausting studying was.

The monster was like a stress toy in her hands.

Ye Chen: Nice.
