Novel blurb:

Ling Zhen fell for his lawyer, Chen Qi.

He was exactly Ling Zhen's type, as if he'd been made to fit the mold of his ideal boyfriend. The problem was, Chen Qi was the second son of a top entertainment conglomerate and a senior partner at a prestigious law firm.

Ling Zhen, a washed-up celebrity from the fourth or fifth tier, knew better than to imagine anything happening with someone who seemed as distant as the moon.

But by chance, Ling Zhen discovered that although Chen Qi was the son of a wealthy family, all the family's vast fortune was in his older brother's hands. Chen Qi was merely the disfavored son, abandoned by his wealthy family, and forced to struggle through the difficulties of starting his own law practice.

After counting the savings he'd worked for over the past few years, Ling Zhen couldn't help stepping in. He cautiously showed Chen Qi his account balance. "I... I have this much money. If you get together with me, I promise I won't let you suffer!"

Chen Qi stared at the figures, his expression briefly frozen.

Just as Ling Zhen thought he was about to be rejected and spent a long, uneasy moment waiting, Chen Qi suddenly replied with a smile, "Sure."

They were sweet and happy together for three months, until Ling Zhen suddenly learned that Chen Qi wasn't some disfavored son from a wealthy family. In fact, his whole family cherished him and couldn't bear to let him suffer, which was why they wouldn't let him get involved in the family business.

Chen Qi had deigned to become a lawyer purely because he was interested in it.

As for Ling Zhen's savings, Chen Qi made more than that in monthly dividends.

His world came crashing down. That moon was far too bright, and Ling Zhen felt he was nowhere near good enough for him. He couldn't afford to get involved with him, so he decisively asked to break up.

But Chen Qi, who was always as gentle and refined as jade, stopped smiling. His face turned cold as he held the back of Ling Zhen's neck. "Isn't it a little too late for you to leave now, Zhenzhen?"

Chen Qi had never suffered a day in his life. His family had always treated him with the utmost respect and consideration, giving him complete freedom to live as he pleased, with an air of effortless elegance.

But suddenly, at the age of twenty-four, Chen Qi saw a look of sympathy in the eyes of a young man four years his junior.

Did he feel sorry for him?

Chen Qi couldn't understand why, but found himself paying a little more attention to him.

He never managed to look away again.

Refined, elegant lawyer from a wealthy family gong (Chen Qi) x resilient, sincere, washed-up celebrity shou (Ling Zhen)

No real-life inspirations. Older gong, both are virgins, happy ending.

★ Content notes:

1. Neither lead is perfect. They grow over the course of the story.

2. The shou doesn't pursue the gong. He's poor at first, and gives him money later in the story.

3. The shou is somewhat avoidant and occasionally has an extreme state of mind.

4. A slow-burn, everyday romance full of tension and mutual affection.

5. There will be some scenes involving a secondary couple, but they should total no more than 3,000 Chinese characters in the whole novel.

Please don't give unsolicited writing advice. Everyone has different tastes, so if you drop the novel, you don't need to tell me why.

Grateful for everyone who believes in love that goes both ways. I hope you enjoy reading.

How Did My Beta Couple-Buddy Turn Into a Brooding Alpha? A cool, beautiful beta's tale of being deceived

Blurb:

Duan Yunbai was a beta who hated Alphas.

In his eyes, Alphas were a group of aggressive, mentally impaired people, controlled by pheromones and not fully evolved.

After turning down countless persistent Alphas who pursued him passionately, Duan Yunbai set his sights on Qi Zhiyu, an upperclassman in his department.

From what he'd observed, Qi Zhiyu was gentle, kind, and considerate. He was good-looking and came from a wealthy family. Most importantly, he was also a beta, with no pheromones.

The experiment at hand was too important. After careful consideration, Duan Yunbai asked Qi Zhiyu to pretend to be his boyfriend.

They sat facing each other in a cafe. Duan Yunbai, who was usually cool and aloof around others, had a faint blush on his cheeks. He tried to sound composed. "Think it over. We can stop anytime after the experiment ends, or if you feel uncomfortable. As payment, you can choose any five papers to have your name on, and I can talk to our advisor too."

The warm yellow lighting made Qi Zhiyu's eyes look a little deeper, giving Duan Yunbai an inexplicable sense of danger.

But the next moment, Qi Zhiyu smiled. "The payment can be whatever. I just hope you'll help me out after your experiment ends. I actually have the same problem."

They could keep it going longer?

The unexpected bonus made Duan Yunbai's beautiful eyes crinkle with delight. He smiled and agreed to this request that could only benefit him.

After they started pretending to be together, Duan Yunbai became more and more pleased with Qi Zhiyu. He felt lucky to have found the perfect partner for their arrangement.

But one day, he found a diary. When he opened it, he saw candid photos of himself going about his daily life, as well as intimate pictures.

The pages were filled with obsessive, frenzied thoughts about him, repeatedly mentioning marking him, turning a beta into an omega, and imprisoning him to keep him all to himself.

Duan Yunbai's fingertips trembled as he realized the diary's owner was an Alpha, and that the handwriting belonged to... Qi Zhiyu.

Ever since they were young, one person had held an extremely important place in Qi Zhiyu's heart.

After they were forced apart, they didn't meet again properly until college.

The other man wore white, like an exquisite porcelain figure standing apart from the world in the sunlight. Yet he still smiled and nodded at Qi Zhiyu. "Hello, Senior Qi."

Qi Zhiyu turned off his screen, concealing the photos in the report his assistant had compiled of Duan Yunbai's schedule, taken in secret along the way. Smiling, he held out his hand. "Hello."

Black-hearted, brooding older gong (Qi Zhiyu) x cool, beautiful shou devoted to academics (Duan Yunbai)
