I'm revising the novel while updating at a snail's pace. I recommend waiting until it's complete before reading. I won't deliberately cut the outline short or rush to a sloppy ending. I'll make sure to write the story I most want to tell.
Tan Lingyi is beautiful as an immortal, delicate as a willow in the breeze, and every talented young man in the capital is clamoring to become her devoted admirer.
But no one knows that the person inside that pretty shell has been replaced.
Tan Lingyi, the sensible transmigrator: Heh. Heh. Heh.
The book has a top scholar who likes crawling under skirts, a young general who often climbs through windows, and a young marquis who barges into a lady's boudoir at night after being drugged with an aphrodisiac, begging her to cure him. These promising young men are in the prime of their lives, yet they have no interest in making the beautiful Jing Dynasty better. Their minds are full of... Unbelievable.
To get away from that crowd of over-the-top male contestants and protect her virtue in this restrictive novel, she somersaults into her younger brother's courtyard, where she spots a gentle, refined young man.
She couldn't be more pleased with this younger brother.
Though he has a lowly birth and has suffered disdain, he's steadfast, diligent, and kind. He also knows how to treat people with courtesy and propriety, which makes him far better than those male contestants who turn every conversation into an animal documentary.
If only all men were as noble and refined as her half-brother, polished like fine jade.
Tan Lingyi hasn't read the original novel, so there are parts of the plot she doesn't know.
There's a major villain, obsessive and cruel, who nearly wipes out the entire group of male contestants before being killed by them all working together.
He's the posthumous son of a deposed crown prince, the current Prince An. He took the place of a son of the Tan family after being passed around from one place to another. He appears obedient on the surface, but the abuse he suffered as a child left him vicious and sinister, and he's plotting a merciless revenge.
His revenge plot has hit a small snag for now... but don't worry. The villain has his own pace. ^-^
Tan Lingyi feels that something is a little off. Though she's not very perceptive, she can tell that her bright and charming younger brother looks at her with a shadow in his eyes.
Does he... hate her?
Ungrateful wretch! How dare he? Without his older sister supporting him, he'd still be eating leftovers and wearing hand-me-downs!
Tan Lingyi is heartbroken. On top of that, whenever she's around him, she thinks of Prince An, the masked demon. Just looking at him makes her head spin, so she slams the door on their friendship with a sharp "Bang!"
When they meet again, she's been drugged and struggles to avoid people until she reaches a secluded place. But when she turns, she crashes into his arms.
The warm-jade-like young man pretends not to notice her struggling. His rich, mellow voice carries a hint of grievance. "You haven't visited in so long, Older Sister. Did I do something wrong?"
As he speaks, his fingers slowly tighten around her sash, as if by accident.
* A clever girl and a wooden beauty x a brooding, sinister, false gentleman
* The male lead is actually older than the female lead
* One-on-one romance, both leads are sexually inexperienced
[Content Warnings]
1. A poorly educated author writes a heroine who transmigrates into a book written by a poorly educated author. The history is extremely inaccurate. I'll make up official positions when I can and use whatever exists when I can't. I appreciate corrections and explanations, but please don't attack me personally.
2. Slow burn. The author is low-key and may not be able to write intense sparks. You don't need to tell me if you drop the novel.
3. The heroine has a fiery temper and is easily provoked. She's just a cat who tears up the house. The male lead is a real villain, so don't expect him to think like a normal person.
4. The heroine is Tan, a kindhearted ordinary citizen. If you don't like saintly characters, I don't recommend opening this, but I like her.
I'll add more if I think of anything. If you're okay with all that, let's go!

Blurb:
Xi Ling transmigrates into an unfinished fantasy demon-hunting novel. Her mission is to change the bad ending and give the story a brighter future.
It sounds like a noble and glorious task, but Xi Ling would be happier if she'd gotten anything besides a busted, cringey System after transmigrating.
The System calls itself "Oscar" and is eager to save the world.
Xi Ling: I think we got each other's scripts. Seriously.
Oscar's functions are extremely basic: whenever other people see her as the opposite of who she really is, she gains points, which she can exchange for mission items. The bigger the contrast, the more points she gets.
So, on the advice of the shameless System, the timid Xi Ling pretends to be a spoiled princess with a princess complex. She only drinks fancy booze, only dines at Michelin-starred restaurants, and creates as much trouble as she can. Every night, when she reviews her actions from the day, she wants to bow down to the original novel's male and female leads.
The original novel's leads are the ultimate naive, sweet, and clueless couple.
In the original story, they somehow never saw through the ill intentions of the person traveling with them. In the end, one died and the other went mad. They were pitiful beyond words.
As for the person with ill intentions...
Xi Ling turns her gaze to the gentle, refined young man in the corner, just in time to see him smile warmly and courteously.
She looks away. Hmph, what a ham.
A showdown between an award-winning actress and actor. Who comes out on top isn't important at all.
What's important is, why do her points keep quietly increasing when she isn't acting at all?
More importantly, why didn't the villain Yun Zhuyue kill her after realizing she'd seen him murder someone? Instead, he crouched beside her and rummaged through a flowerbed splashed with blood. He picked a flower untouched by the blood, tucked it into her hair, and spoke so gently it sent a shiver down her spine.
"This flower suits you. Also, I like you."
Xi Ling looks at the points skyrocketing on her System and feels like she's falling apart.
Can someone tell her why the main villain has inexplicably fallen for her on his own?!
#Who confesses at a murder scene?#
#I'm not being difficult because you're special. I just don't want to deal with you.#
#What if the main villain finds out she doesn't like him at all?#
#Help!!!#
* Xi Ling: fake princess complex, real scaredy-cat, good girl

Yun Zhuyue: fake saint, real sinister ghost, sweet-faced sociopath
