The Top-Tier Star's Love-Struck Archrival

In the recently concluded xianxia drama The Great Wilderness, rising stars Cheng Zhou and Yun Che were evenly matched rivals, cast as sworn enemies. Later in the script, Cheng Zhou humiliates Yun Che by binding him hand and foot and forcing him to marry him.

The humiliation works. Yun Che fights him to the death, battling until the mountains crumble and the earth splits. Both of them are killed off.

But not long after they leave the show, Cheng Zhou's manager, summoning all his courage, comes to Yun Che and says, "My boy's gorgeous, has long legs, and doesn't eat much. Could you... take him in?"

Cheng Zhou has amnesia after a car accident and is convinced Yun Che is the husband he lost in another world. He even goes on a hunger strike to force their reunion.

Saving one life is better than building a seven-story pagoda.

So, three days later, when the crew of a travel variety show comes knocking at Yun's home, the person who opens the door is none other than Cheng Zhou, Yun Che's rival.

Cheng Zhou, in pajamas, sitting in a wheelchair, with wet hair.

The crew stammers out the reason for their visit. Cheng Zhou turns and calls out, "Husband, they're looking for you!"

Yun Che rushes out in a panic, hair dryer in hand. "Cut that part!"

The director and crew are nearly brought to tears, from shock and joy: "We're a live show..."

The fans from both camps, who've been at each other's throats: Well, well, were you putting on an act for us? Should we go through the motions and pretend to resist, or just ship them?
