Lover of Crime (Crime Investigation)

Going VIP on May 14, with a 10,000-word chapter dropping that day

[Coolheaded, reserved criminal investigation captain x crime expert with dissociative identity disorder]

Ice-cold, unhinged women | Push-and-pull rivals | Satisfying face-slapping

Ji Nanxing is the youngest criminal investigation captain at the Zhouhai City Public Security Bureau. Beautiful, intelligent, and strong, she's a monster with no weaknesses, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, and a serious aversion to dirt.

During an undercover operation, a fierce gunfight broke out between the police and gangsters. Just as she was about to die in a hail of bullets while saving a teammate, a mysterious woman suddenly appeared and rescued her.

In a private room at a bar, the woman teased her with suggestive words and frivolous gestures. Under the pretext of saving her life, she forcefully stole Ji Nanxing's first kiss.

That breathtaking kiss through the gap between their fingers became a nightmare Ji Nanxing couldn't escape. She thought their paths would never cross again, but they met once more at a crime scene.

The woman was detached and distant, as if they had never met. "Hello, Captain Ji. I'm Gu Sinian, the third-party forensic lead."

Ji Nanxing gritted her teeth. "What are you pretending for? That you have no memory of people who've done you a favor?"

Gu Sinian is the sole heir to the Gu family. Instead of properly running the company, she chose to parachute into the criminal investigation team as a criminal psychology expert.

A seemingly ordinary suicide case leads to a string of murders shrouded in mystery. The bloody crime scenes shock the entire city, and under pressure from their superiors, the two are forced to become a case-solving duo.

Gu Sinian thinks Ji Nanxing's cleanliness obsession is maddening, while Ji Nanxing can't stand Gu Sinian's unpredictable ways. The two sworn enemies argue at the drop of a hat, while the whole team ships them.

With their compatibility in the negatives, the two painstakingly unravel the clues. Seven deaths and seven deadly sins lead back to an unsolved tragedy from twenty years ago, and expose the painful childhoods they would rather not face.

While working together on murder cases, Gu Sinian keeps putting on a show of changing personalities. One moment she's analyzing crimes and catching killers, the next she's soft and alluring. Sometimes she's cold and arrogant, sometimes violent and unruly.

Ji Nanxing's criminal investigation skills are top-notch, but even she can't figure out what game Gu Sinian is playing.

Until one night, when alcohol leads them into a night of reckless passion. The refined Miss Gu falls into the hands of the clueless Captain Ji, revealing a secret she never wanted anyone to know: she has dissociative identity disorder.

Afterward, Gu Sinian bites the bedsheet, full of regret. How did I end up playing all night with this jerk? Could I be in love with her? Ha, what a ridiculous joke! (Getting face-slapped.jpg)

Gu Sinian: "You're dating different versions of me. Aren't you afraid?"

Ji Nanxing: "That actually sounds pretty exciting."

Just kidding, of course she's afraid. By day, she's a worn-out workhorse solving cases. By night, she gets a random personality blind box.

Captain Ji says: The dating experience is way too varied. It's painful, but it's fun.
