Wait, Does the Protagonist Really Not Have a Secret Crush on Me?

[The blurb has been saved as a screenshot]

Si Rong and Pei Jin had been sworn enemies for over twenty years. Then, one day, a System appeared in his head and opened with a bombshell: "Here's a secret. The world you're in is a book. Pei Jin is the male lead of a wish-fulfillment novel, and you're the unrequited love of his life, the white moonlight he's pined for all these years."

Si Rong was stunned. "So when he was always picking fights with me... that was...?"

The System replied, "He couldn't have you, so he was trying to get your attention!"

Si Rong saw the light.

From then on, Pei Jin's every move looked completely different to him.

Pei Jin accidentally wore a jacket just like his. Si Rong: He's been planning this for ages, hasn't he?

Pei Jin won first place in the international moot court competition. Si Rong: He's afraid he's not good enough for me, so he's collecting gold medals. I get it.

Pei Jin won so many scholarships he could barely hold them all. Si Rong: He's saving up for some huge confession. How do I turn him down and still look cool?

Lately, something had been giving Pei Jin a bit of a headache. His lifelong nemesis, Si Rong, had suddenly started acting strange. Every day, he looked at Pei Jin as if to say, "I've seen right through you," and kept saying incomprehensible things.

Every little thing Pei Jin did was blown out of proportion, making Si Rong wear an inscrutable smile.

It was seriously disrupting Pei Jin's daily life. At the end of his tether, Pei Jin decided to ask Si Rong for a talk. If that didn't work, he'd beat him up and pay for him to get his head checked.

The System found Si Rong again, panicking. "I'm so sorry! I got the world information wrong! Pei Jin doesn't like you at all! He has a condition that makes him emotionally detached. He'll reach the very top and become a workaholic, the number one lawyer in the field. He won't fall in love with anyone... Huh?"

After coming off a top-tier legal interview show and setting the internet ablaze by admitting he was in love, Pei Jin held the young man close and kissed him, asking softly, "...Can I kiss you a little longer?"

Kissed until his head was spinning and his lips were flushed and glistening, Si Rong took a beat to reply to the System: "Hm? What was it he didn't like?"

System: ...

Sorry to bother you. The one he doesn't like is me, the annoying one.

Can someone explain what on earth is going on here?!
