Possessed by a Powerful Man, I Became Everyone's Favorite

Jian Shujun, the only son of the Jian family of Lingjiang, loses his family overnight. The killer vanishes, and pursuers close in from every direction.

To avenge his parents, Jian Shujun uses his family's treasured heirloom, intending to offer his life in exchange for Daoist Venerable Fanyang's help in wreaking havoc.

But Fanyang does come, only as a ghost without a body, unable to wield a sword, and with complaints that Jian Shujun's body is no good.

Pursuers behind him, a dead end ahead.

Jian Shujun gives up hope and resigns himself to his fate.

In response, the old ancestor Xia Ling says, "I wasn't born with the Fanyang Sword either. I've got plenty of experience handling things. Even without my powers, I can still help you get revenge. Don't worry."

So Jian Shujun watches as the Daoist Venerable takes control of his body and, in no time at all, charms his childhood friend, renowned for his cold-heartedness, into coming to his rescue without a second thought, saving him from the pursuit.

Jian Shujun: "...?"

And that's not all. Over the next year of traveling together, the master of Meiyu Palace, the Qilin scion of Dongling, and even the crown prince of the Demon Palace all fall at the feet of the Daoist Venerable wearing his face. Whether they once thought he was just a pretty face or called him shallow, they all weep and declare their love, saying they want to avenge him.

Jian Shujun falls apart. He can't understand it and demands of Xia Ling, "You're an old ancestor of Chengzhou Mountain. Why are you so good at this kind of thing? No, how can you even bring yourself to do it?"

Xia Ling leisurely straightens his clothes, slightly disheveled from his "fall," then gives Jian Shujun a solemn lesson beneath the crowd's admiring gazes. "Shu, don't discriminate against a profession. We're just earning a living. There's nothing shameful about it."

Jian Shujun: "..." I'm tired. Let's just destroy everything already.
