Set in the original context of Free!, after the competition ends, Albert invites Rin to travel to Norway so he can learn why Haruka swims. Haruka and Makoto return to Japan.
Told in third person, with much of the story from Makoto's perspective. Both couples' relationships will be explored, and the endings of other Free! characters, such as Rei Ryugazaki and Nagisa Hazuki, will also be covered later.

Makoto's feelings for Haruka have become impossible to suppress. He suffers over the ambiguous relationship between Rin and Haruka.
As he grows further and further apart from Nanase Haruka in swimming, he doesn't want to lose the place he deserves in Haruka's life as well.
But love doesn't care who came first. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, no matter how desperately you cling and plead, things still may not turn out the way you want.
Companionship is the longest confession of love.
He has confessed a thousand times over. Will he ever get to hear Haruka's reply?

It's well written. Makoto the chef and Makoto's party were so hurt (crying) when I saw it. It didn't feel OOC at all. It was very delicate. It's very sad to think about it after reading it. They say that companionship is the longest confession of love, but Haruka has never responded to Makoto's confession in equal measure...
The characters of Haruka and Sousuke in this chapter are really well written! But didn't they start calling each other by their first names after the water gun fight? Hahahaha
