Identity V: Thorns

This is an ABO story featuring two couples: alpha x beta.

There are three stories in total. This one is He Yin, and the next two are Qiu Yin.

A flower blooms from the mud. It blossoms tenaciously, stretching its branches toward sunlight and dew. Because no one cares for it or helps it, it believes itself to be great.

One day, a young man passing by notices it and chooses to stop. Every day, he waters it and sets up a trellis so the wind won't knock it over. He gently blows the dust from its tender leaves. He says all he needs is someone to keep him company.

Sometimes the young man grows tired of this place, but he never takes the flower and leaves. The flower knows that this is where his dreams and everything he has are. They stay together day after day, until at last the young man closes his eyes and kisses it gently. Weary, he takes its heart away, and never appears again. From then on, the flower no longer believes itself to be great.
