A venomous beauty x a serene Buddhist monk. Which one will be overcome by inner demons and consumed by obsession?
Before I met you, no one in the world mattered. After I met you, everyone in the world was you.
When the young monk with the brightest prospects of attaining enlightenment meets a cruel, ruthless little demoness from Blood Moon Valley who can't tell right from wrong, whose heart will be unsettled, and whose path will be disturbed?
In their first life, Xuan Kong witnessed Blood Moon's gruesome death, sowing an inner demon within him. His obsession only grew stronger. He prayed before the Buddha for ten years, and when he awoke from a dream one day, he had returned to a time before the tragedy had taken place.
That year, just before her death, Blood Moon looked at the young monk before her, his face spattered with blood, and regretted dragging him into the secular world. So she fought with all her strength to return, hoping to let him fulfill his great path of saving all living beings.
As the two keep being reborn at different points in time, caught in an endless cycle, which one of them is keeping the other trapped?
I.
"Female benefactor, please stop."
"It's you! Why don't you teach me how to stop, Master?" Blood Moon reached out and stroked Xuan Kong's face.
"Please behave yourself, benefactor. Amitabha." Xuan Kong's face showed neither joy nor sorrow. He brushed Blood Moon's hand aside, lifted the injured person, and strode off through the air.
Blood Moon was left stamping her foot where she stood.
II.
"Master Xuan Kong, do you truly intend to side with that demoness and make an enemy of the entire martial world?"
"I know only that all living beings are part of the world, and Blood Moon is one of them. I will not let her go." Nor can I. Xuan Kong leaned on his staff, one hand raised in front of his chest, and spoke with unshakable resolve.
Blood Moon watched him from behind, her heart a tangle of emotions.
III.
"Xuan Kong, will you leave the monastery and marry me?" Blood Moon squatted beside Xuan Kong, cupping her face in her hands as she asked.
"..."
"Hmph, I knew your Buddha was the only thing in your heart." Blood Moon turned and ran.
Xuan Kong parted his lips, but in the end, said nothing.
Xuan Kong knelt before the Buddha for seven days and seven nights.
On the seventh day, Xuan Kong took the prayer beads from around his neck, respectfully and reverently placed them on the offering tray before the Buddha, bowed three times, then stood and left the mountain without looking back.
I am an unworthy disciple. I cannot see through this illusory beauty. I can only hope to attain enlightenment in my next life.
Yue'er, I'm coming to marry you.
