A black-haired girl stood outside with a suitcase, chin raised as she looked the man over. He had come to open the door with a plastic toothbrush in his mouth.

Obito Uchiha held mouthwash in his mouth and gave her a friendly smile.

The girl warily took a step back. A look of distaste immediately appeared on her dazzlingly beautiful face.

"Stay away from me, you..."

"Slovenly, penniless loser."

The genuine corporate drone Obito Uchiha's smile froze.

The year Uchiha Mei turned sixteen, the family business, already teetering on the brink, finally went bankrupt. Her unscrupulous older brother fled in the middle of the night.

Unaware of what had happened, she was sent to stay with her brother's friend, who had gone far away to work, and began a life under someone else's roof.
