Is It Weird for the Zombie Emperor to Be Clingy?

[This is an early work, so just enjoy it for fun!]

1.

Lin Yuan, a zombie with rhinitis, had a lot to be frustrated about.

After turning into a zombie, he lost his memories but remained conscious. He had no interest in eating humans, and since his sense of taste no longer worked, all he could do was stare at the delicious food that had somehow appeared in his storage space and sigh.

Then one day, Lin Yuan, a zombie with severe rhinitis, suddenly smelled something incredibly delicious. He followed the scent and found an injured man.

Lin Yuan was so shocked that he immediately brought the man back to his den as emergency rations. Every day, he would savor the smell and take a lick to satisfy his craving.

2.

As humanity's strongest esper, Lu Wenchuan ran into a zombie horde while out on a mission. He planned to kill himself rather than get infected, but somehow survived.

He was rescued by an adorable zombie, and from then on, he had a little tail following him around:

The little tail couldn't speak and stayed glued to his side every moment of every day. He was very well-behaved, but got hungry quickly. Every day, he would hold Lu Wenchuan and "gnaw" on him to sate his hunger. Lu Wenchuan spent most of his time thinking about how to keep his little tail fed.

Meanwhile, rumors flew through human society and the zombie world:

Humans: "Have you heard? The strongest esper has taken the Zombie Emperor as his underling! We won't have to fear zombies anymore!"

Zombies: "Have you heard? The Zombie Emperor has taken the strongest human as his emergency rations! The zombie conquest of Earth is just around the corner!"

The two of them, hearing the rumors:

Lu Wenchuan: "He's not emergency rations. He's my wife, thanks."

Lin Yuan: "He's not my underling. He's my big brother, thanks."

Content warnings:

* In this story, humans have developed an antibody, but it only works for mildly infected people. (So when the shou licks blood at the beginning, he won't get infected!)

* The shou's personality is very different in the early and later parts of the story. The reasons will be explained later.

* The story is told from both the gong's and the shou's perspectives.

* No secondary couples in the main story. Feel free to dive in.

* One-on-one romance, happy ending.

Watching the fluffy little ball of fur that was Li Yang whimpering on the ground, he broke down in tears. "Why didn't anyone tell me my golden finger was such a cheap knockoff?!"

After failing to show off and getting beaten instead, Li Yang obediently latched onto the protagonist's coattails. He went from Cannon Fodder No. N, a useless esper, to the protagonist's right-hand man with an overpowered golden finger.

2.

In the year 1130 of the apocalypse, the 200th Esper Tournament began.

When Li Yang's name appeared on the preliminary roster, everyone sneered.

"Him? A beast tamer who can only tame baby mutant beasts? He won't even get through the preliminaries."

"He got through the preliminaries? Who'd want him as a teammate?"

"He found a teammate? Must be riding on God Mu's coattails."

Everyone waited for Li Yang to lose and get abandoned by his teammates. Instead, the mutant beast cubs everyone had looked down on went on to defeat opponent after opponent.

"What? Those little fluffballs can grow that big?!"

"Aah! How can there be fluffballs this cute?! Li Yang, go! Get them!"

Li Yang's tail practically stuck up to the sky with pride. He shot the person beside him a smug look. "Am I awesome or what?"

Mu Sheng stood beside Li Yang, holding the championship trophy, the corners of his lips lifting. "Not bad."
