Suguru Geto has lost his memory.
At first, he thought he was following the script of a leveling-up story that started from scratch. He dutifully played the part of a weak, helpless little nobody, living a plain, almost aimless life in a world with a rather dubious attitude toward life and death and a completely chaotic historical setting.
Then, after an accident, he learned that the world he was in wasn't his own, and that the one who told someone else this was his "second personality."
Apparently, his "second personality" was outrageously obnoxious. He would call people useless with the brightest smile, and after Suguru found out, he became even more brazen about gorging on desserts, making Suguru gain a full ten pounds.
Besides, strictly speaking, Suguru wasn't some frail little nobody. Whenever danger arose, his "second personality" could beat people up or pound on just about anything else like a max-level veteran dropping into a beginner's village to bully the low-level mobs.
As an aside, this beginner's village basically covered the entire world.
But it wasn't a big deal. After a period of rehabilitation guided by his second personality, Suguru could go out and bully the low-level mobs too.
Later, by sheer coincidence, Suguru got the chance to communicate with someone and finally learned that his other personality was called Satoru Gojo.
It's not all that unusual for different personalities in a person with dissociative identity disorder to have separate lives. Looking at it that way, their names even rhymed, making them seem even more like the same person.
Just as he thought he might be in the same situation, the memories he recovered clearly showed Satoru Gojo.
Suguru Geto's first thought: "A former classmate became my second personality."
Suguru Geto's second thought: "Unable to have the one he loved, he became that person's likeness."
He'd thought those memories were just a memoir about his late wife. Well, imagine his surprise when it turned out that his late wife was actually himself.
What on earth is wrong with this world.jpg
In the world after death, Satoru Gojo was given a third choice.
He didn't have to turn south and embrace the past, nor head north in pursuit of a new life.
There was only one thing he wished for.
"I want Suguru. Suguru Geto."
※ The main plot unfolds in Gintama, so the art style is extremely Gintama-esque (thumbs up). The whole point is to give Suguru Geto a beating with ordinary people's values (What's a monkey? We have gorillas in Gintama, and the gorillas even draw manga.)
※ The plot of Gintama will not be changed. He mainly takes part in the everyday-life storylines (our Geto is here for psychological reconditioning).
※ In the early chapters, Suguru Geto mainly lives with Satoru Gojo's body. Cursed techniques are banned. Unless he's truly one breath away from death, Satoru Gojo won't come out and take over the account (Come on, watching Suguru get put through the wringer is so much fun!)
Theme: Let's entwine our fates tightly together.
