Bai Li woke up to a piercing scream. Before him, someone was slaughtering a chicken, and he was covered in feathers. It seemed obvious that he would be the next one to be killed.
The butcher brought his knife down, and the squawking on the cutting board abruptly stopped. Terrified, Bai Li flapped his wings and escaped.
Unfortunately, his little wings couldn't carry him far before a filthy young man caught him.
The young man's name was Lin Nanzhou. He had red eyes from birth, both his parents were dead, and the villagers regarded him as an ill omen and shunned him.
One night after being caught, the little chicken turned into a human and tried to sneak away, only to be mistaken for a chicken thief.
Bai Li: "If I tell you I'm that chicken, will you believe me?"
Lin Nanzhou: "Turn back into a chicken and I'll believe you."
Seeing Lin Nanzhou's fierce, hungry gaze, Bai Li swallowed. "So how do you want to settle this?"
Lin Nanzhou glanced at the beauty mark at the corner of his eye. "What do I want? I want a husband."

Later, the villagers all said that the red-eyed little freak was lucky to marry a capable husband who knew how to run a household.
That husband was a real expert at raising livestock. He raised all sorts of animals, and under his care they grew plump and healthy. They tasted delicious, too!
Hey, why doesn't his family raise chickens? I heard they already have one, and it's gorgeous, but fussy and jealous. I once saw it strutting around proudly on that freak's head!
Thinking of the rumors around the village, Lin Nanzhou brought a cup of spring water to his little husband and coaxed him, "How about we raise another little chick?"
The husband-and-wife setting is an alternate world, entirely imagined by the author.
Both the gong and shou have powerful golden fingers. The story starts a little slowly, but it's a satisfying, cozy, angst-free, super-sweet read.
The gong only develops romantic feelings after reaching adulthood. The little chicken has already reached adulthood by the time his identity is revealed.
A super-strong gong who can knock down a wild boar with one punch x a soft, cute, mischievous little chick shou.
The child is born from an egg (mentioning this in case anyone is uncomfortable with it!)
Coming soon: Fine, Should I Just Drop Out?
The title may change. This will be a story where I let my personal tastes run wild...
One-line summary: I'm the only weakling in a group of geniuses.
Every cultivator dreams of entering the top academy in the upper realm.
There, you'll find the best resources for advancing your cultivation. There, all your teachers are demigods. There, the odds of successfully surviving tribulation are one hundred percent.
Bai Guo used to dream of attending this academy, confident that with the best aptitude in his little world, he could at least place second among his generation.
Huh? Why was his cultivation level going down the more he practiced?
As he grew older, Bai Guo's reputation as a genius faded, and he became a laughingstock.
He fled his hometown and ran to the upper realm. This time, his goal was no longer to attend that academy. He only wanted to go somewhere nobody knew him and start his cultivation journey over.
But fate played a joke on him. Not only did he get into the academy, he became famous there.
But this time, people weren't talking about a fallen genius whose cultivation had gone to waste.
Instead...
"Look over there, isn't that the young master of the Lin family? I heard the person with him is his Dao companion."
"Nonsense, he's clearly the crown prince's consort from the demon clan."
"Huh? I heard the Xuanji Pavilion divined that he'll become the future young pavilion master's wife, and eventually give birth to two children."
The rumors grew more and more ridiculous. As the center of all the gossip, Bai Guo could only say, "Please, can you let me drop out?"
