I Turned into an Animal at the Audition

[Writing this after finishing Showbiz Nobody Idol and a Stable Job 3]

In his previous life, Song He was an undercover anti-drug police officer embedded among criminals. In the final moments of his life, he successfully held the criminals off long enough for his comrades to arrest them, but died in the flames himself.

He thought his final journey would be beneath a national flag, on the way to a martyrs' cemetery. But when he opened his eyes again, he had become an eighteen-year-old idol contestant with the same name.

The bad news: The competition was being livestreamed, and it was almost his turn to perform.

The good news: He was bound to a System. The System told him that if he agreed to the binding, it would give him a perk that could help him get through this crisis.

Just then, the mentor called him onstage, and he tried to focus on two things at once.

When he reached the center of the stage, he heard the System declare: [I can turn you into an animal on the spot!]

The mentor: "Song He, what special talent will you show us this time?"

Song He answered distractedly: "Turn into an animal?"

The mentor and the audience: "Huh?"

The next second, a calico cat appeared out of thin air in the center of the stage.

Everyone in the audience jumped out of their chairs at once: "What just jumped down there?!"

The livestream viewers: "! What high-end special effects! What a niche skill! What an incredible director!"

The director... stared at the calico cat in a daze. A few seconds later, his eyes widened with shock. He turned to his assistant and asked, "Do I look like the kind of director who can afford special effects like this?"

The System was so unreliable that Song He hadn't wanted to agree to it at first.

But...

After successfully identifying the culprit in the [Poisoning Case], Song He was taken to the police station to assist with an inquiry. At the station entrance, he passed someone familiar and froze. It was his older brother, who had died in the line of duty years ago. But why was he here now?!

[System Announcement: Song Luo's undercover identity is about to be discovered. Save Song Luo's life to earn a massive amount of life points.]

Song Luo, his older brother's name.

Song He suddenly understood. His brother had only faked his death back then so he could go undercover.

Song He stared at the Public Security Bureau behind him for two seconds, then asked the System: [Wouldn't the missions you give me be a lot easier to complete if I found some helpers?]

The System didn't understand. It beeped questioningly as it watched its Host rush over to the criminal investigation captain he'd just been dealing with, lower his voice, and speak like a charlatan: "This may sound bizarre and make me seem crazy, but I'm really reborn and bound to a System. Believe me. Take me to meet your superiors, and I'll give you a bright and glorious future."

The criminal investigation captain: ?

Later...

The entertainment industry's Red-Light District Case, the variety show's human trafficking case, the horror movie murder case...

Everyone gradually realized that wherever Song He went, all kinds of strange cases cropped up. But every time, he managed to identify the criminals and bring them to justice without fail.

One day, a marketing account posted in surprise: "Why is Song He's follower list full of the official accounts of police departments all over the country?!"

Fans flocked in, and after investigating, uncovered another clue.

"In that scene from Song He's new variety show where he set up a stall, isn't the vendor behind him an undercover police officer?!"

"! Did you see Song He's new movie? The person who fired the gun was an actual SWAT officer!"

"Uh, no... The person who checks in on Song He's Weibo every day seems to be the captain of the Public Security Bureau's criminal investigation team..."

As time went on, the fans were horrified to discover that Song He had attracted the attention of countless official authorities.
