When a Native Cultivator Becomes a Player

Ye Ling is bound to the World-Saving God System, which gives her a little world on the verge of destruction from the start.

The little world calls itself the Cultivation Realm. It has no resources, its magical treasures are all useless, and its spiritual energy has run dry. Demonic cultivators and orthodox cultivators fight every day over what little life force remains. The strong prey on the weak, mortals struggle to survive, and strange beasts run rampant. The entire world is in ruins, with barely more than a hundred thousand people left. Extinction is just around the corner.

The System's shop has everything, but you need Prestige Points to buy anything. Ye Ling starts with a pitiful 10 points.

She must use those points to revive the entire little world before she can receive her graduation reward from the System: a basic divine seal.

To become a god and save her home planet, she decides to give it everything she's got.

System: "Dear trainee world-saving god, to help you complete your mission, the System will give you a beginner's gift pack and one ability."

Ye Ling: "What ability?"

System: "You'll have to create it yourself. The ability will gradually level up according to its frequency of use and influence."

After opening the beginner's gift pack, Ye Ling smiles.

Moments later, outside a small village in the mortal lands of the Cultivation Realm, a few young people fighting off an invasion of strange beasts hear a voice from beyond the heavens.

[Congratulations! You have received a beta invitation to The Cultivation Codex. You can choose from the following options: 1. Become a player and gain powerful abilities. 2. Become a non-player and enjoy a peaceful life. 3. Make no choice for now. Please choose within three days. After three days, you will automatically be registered as a non-player.]

Faced with danger, every one of the young people chooses the first option.

[Congratulations! You are now a beta player of The Cultivation Codex. Generating your initial stats.]

[Main quest issued: Kill strange beasts to earn generous rewards.]

Hidden in the bushes, Ye Ling rapidly operates her newly acquired ability: Game Designer.

System: !! What kind of bizarre ability is this?! The Host is supposed to save the world, so why is she saving these random nobodies?

Then, in the very next moment, Prestige Points pour in.

System: ???

Before joining the game: Orthodox and demonic cultivators attack each other on sight, wreaking havoc across the world.

After joining the game: Turn off faction mode. Let's run some dungeons together first. We can kill each other when the faction war starts.

Before joining the game: Elderly mortals struggle to survive, scraping by in the cracks.

After joining the game: "Young people, could you deliver a letter for this old man?" "A quest! There's a quest here! Everyone, get over here!"

Before joining the game: Healer cultivators are nearly extinct, alchemists can't make something out of nothing, and everyone lives in fear.

After joining the game: "Need a top-tier healer for a ten-person dungeon!" "Experienced healer needed for a high-level dungeon! Private message me, I'll pay a thousand spirit stones!"

Before joining the game: The Cultivation Realm is ruled by the strong. People kill for treasure and do whatever they please.

After joining the game: Everyone has magical treasures, and nobody can steal them. Do something bad and you'll get a red name, then face a whole suite of punishments: jail, account suspension, and chat bans.

Everyone in the Cultivation Realm throws themselves into the game. As they play on and on, they gradually realize that the sky is no longer dark, the air is fresh again, and the land is covered in wondrous spirit plants.

While other people are tormented by extreme weather, the Hidden Divinity Sect raises spiritual energy shields and wanders every corner of the world with mana potions in their mouths.

While other lords rack their brains to expand their territory, recruit new subjects, and increase their strength, Shen Tang looks at her sect's thirteen floating peaks and seventy-two islands, with a total territory three times the size of Huaguo.

While other lords threaten and tempt their subjects to explore the world, Shen Tang moves a finger and issues a quest. Her disciples charge out without looking back for experience points and contribution points.

When other lords seek to challenge and annex the Hidden Divinity Sect's territory, Shen Tang simply issues a Chosen One quest. The selected disciple screams with excitement and tears through the enemy alone.

The lords are indignant. The lords roar. The lords see the truth and drop to their knees to cling to them.

Eventually, all the lords understand one thing:

Don't pick a fight with those people who fly on swords. Every last one of them isn't human. They're gods.

As for Shen Tang, she eats hotpot and pets her cat, rising from game administrator to the supreme deity of the game.

The sect also becomes the only divine realm above the rules of the apocalypse.
