A Record of Cat Petting in the Interstellar Era

Liang Yan is transported into the body of a royal orphan who was kidnapped as a child. By the time she is found, she has become the little tyrant of a junk planet.

Back in the Karst Empire, Liang Yan has everything she needs. She has an older sister who wants to make up for the past, a beautiful, frail father who fiercely protects her, and a betrothed she has never met.

In the future interstellar world, humans awaken as either Sentinels or Guides.

Liang Yan's mother is the heir to the empire and was once one of its strongest Sentinels.

Yet despite being descended from the empire's strongest Sentinel, Liang Yan doesn't awaken as one. Instead, she becomes a B-rank Guide. No one knows that she is the only Guide with a healing spirit form, the Vermilion Bird.

Liang Yan has already decided that once she makes something of herself, she'll marry a beautiful wife, just like her mother did.

Xiao Changling is an S-rank Sentinel, one of the rare dark-type Sentinels who can stay on the front lines without needing a Guide to soothe him.

But no one knows that every time he goes berserk, the agony is unbearable. He becomes as ferocious and bloodthirsty as a demon from hell, enduring it until his body is covered in wounds.

After being gravely injured, he has no choice but to temporarily become his spirit form, "Nigel," and hide in a cave while he heals.

Until a young girl, covered in protective gear from head to toe, finds the cave.

After meeting his wary gaze for a moment, Liang Yan raises her brows in delight. "What a beautiful little black cat!"

Xiao Changling: "..."

The petal-shaped cat paw, poised to strike with its claws, feels a warm, healing energy the moment it touches her.

Xiao Changling is kidnapped and turned into a house cat.

Every day, his black fur is brushed until it's silky smooth. He gets chicken breast and little fish every few days, and sleeps on a soft bed in a magnificent palace.

Until one day, another Sentinel invades his territory: Liang Yan's former fiance. His overpowering possessiveness makes Xiao Changling bristle with fury.

The sleek black cat leaps onto the counter and begins choosing the best tool for an assassination.

"What is your cat doing?"

"He's playing. Look how much fun he's having!"

Xiao Changling: "...?"
