After Failing to Reform the Tyrant

Unofficial histories say that Wei Ze, the tyrant who unified the realm, was sent to Da Zhou as a hostage in his youth and suffered every humiliation imaginable.

Later, he led his iron cavalry through Da Zhou’s gates and unified the realm.

The crown prince of Da Zhou tried to sacrifice himself for his country, but the tyrant had him tortured to death.

Shen Yanxun transmigrates into the unfortunate crown prince. Now he has two choices: smother the young Wei Ze, or win him over with sincerity.

Looking at the innocent boy, Shen Yanxun chooses the latter.

On the day Da Zhou falls, Shen Yanxun realizes that his attempt to change Wei Ze has failed and there is no hope of turning things around. He hangs a white sash and prepares to end it all, but Wei Ze bursts through the door and stops him, carrying him all the way to Fengqi Palace.

Wei Ze lays him on the bed, leans close, and whispers: This realm is still yours.

Shen Yanxun: ?

Wei Ze continues: How about becoming empress?

The tyrant, who never believed in gods or respected ghosts and demons, willingly kneels before the Bodhisattva and prays with devotion for the sake of the “consort” in Fengqi Palace: May my A Xun live a long and happy life.

The ministers all know that the “consort” is the emperor’s most beloved person. Whenever they anger the tyrant,

they send someone with jewels and a message to that “consort,” hoping for protection.

The ministers of the former court grumble indignantly: What do you mean, “consort”? That’s our crown prince!

A flirtatious, sickly beauty of a crown prince who doesn’t know what he’s doing * a tyrant who becomes a lovesick fool without realizing he’s fallen for a man

#The ministers of the former court think I’m saving the country by indirect means, but all I want is to run away#

I could have borne the darkness, if I had never seen the light.
