[Harry Potter] A Variable in the Sea of Stars

Elisa Biller realized the timeline had gone off course on the day she was sorted into a house.

She arrived at the castle under a sky full of stars reflected in the lake. The Sorting Hat placed her in Slytherin and didn't notice that she was a soul from another world.

Elisa let out a long breath of relief, sat down at the long table by the window, and picked up a glass of milk. Then she heard that the next first-year was Sirius Black.

That was a name she'd heard a thousand times. She quickly looked up toward the High Table. A brown-haired boy sat in front of the teachers, pale-faced and red-lipped, while the Sorting Hat hesitated over his head for a long time.

Elisa already knew he would go to Gryffindor. She took a sip of milk and heard the Sorting Hat call, "Slytherin!"

"Pfft--"

All the milk in Elisa's mouth sprayed onto the roast chicken in front of Lucius Malfoy beside her.
