Phoenix Tomb

Blurb

Guided by the prediction of the Imperial Preceptor, the emperor discovered a deserted island that had lain silent for a thousand years.

The island was densely covered in withered woods, its land buried beneath thick snow, as if forgotten by the world.

As the last glimmer of golden light sank into the sea in the west, a black crow circled down and perched on a branch. Beneath the dead tree lay a solitary grave, with a pitch-black sword scabbard standing upright as its tombstone.

They said this was the legendary Phoenix Tomb.

[An island lies in the South Sea, where phoenix bones are buried and the phoenix soul rests. Awaken the divine soul, and you can ascend through the Immortal Gate.]

After the prophecy was made, Nan Ling, the foremost disciple of the Imperial Preceptor's residence, was entrusted with an important mission by the royal family. Amid a grand send-off, she boarded a huge ship in search of the immortal island.

During the days at sea, Nan Ling lay in bed, so seasick she wished she were dead. Still, she had to drag herself up to rescue an unauthorized ship that had followed them and accidentally capsized.

She had no choice. Everyone aboard was an old acquaintance, each one precious and impossible to treat harshly, and she had to take care of them in every possible way.

Until one time, she fished out an unfamiliar young man in red, soaking wet.

Nan Ling had never met a man so delicate and frail, yet so full of shameless come-ons.
