The Delicate One Reigns Above

#Atonement After Rebirth, Sweet and Devoted Couple# The late emperor died, and a young emperor ascended the throne. Princess Yan Mingyue of the Yue dynasty was forced to obey the late emperor's final decree and marry He Lin, the Prince of Beiyuan. But Yan Mingyue had long since fallen for Ye Xiao, the Marquis of Junyan. This marriage was not what she wanted. After the wedding, the couple spent little time together and treated each other with coldness and distance. Yan Mingyue also heard rumors wherever she went: This prince with a different surname, who had once climbed to power over a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, was plotting a rebellion. But when the court was thrown into chaos, the one who drove a sword into her was Ye Xiao, the man she had always longed for. He mocked her with scorn and coldness. "It's thanks to how easy you were to fool that everything is settled. Farewell, princess of the former dynasty." Yan Mingyue fell into a pool of blood, yet her soul did not disappear. After her death, she saw He Lin storm into the main hall with a sword, slash off Ye Xiao's head, then hold her corpse and weep uncontrollably. Only then did she see clearly that the man who seemed as cold as frost had long ago melted into a pool of spring water for her, deep in his heart. But she had never cherished him. * When she opened her eyes, she had returned to the past, just in time to be caught meeting Ye Xiao in secret. The man before her was livid, his dark eyes blazing with a fury that made her shrink back. Nothing like the tenderness she had seen after her death! Yan Mingyue trembled and shrank her neck, determined to turn over a new leaf and mend her ways: Fruit platters, fragrant tea, little snacks, shoulder massages, leg rubs, and every possible show of devotion. But the more Yan Mingyue did, the colder He Lin became. Not only was he unmoved, but somehow their marriage seemed to be getting worse and worse. Theme: Cherish the person in front of you.
