Choosing the Light After Becoming the Boss's Family

Updates every other day. I caught COVID and felt awful, but I'm slowly recovering.

I couldn't let go of this story, so I decided to start this one. The next story will be The Mastermind. When that one returns, the whole thing will be posted at once, so don't worry.

2. This is a complete standalone world, with no connection to the first story.

[Seen or unseen.] Amid the clamor, a voice too faint to make out kept calling. Kyoka, who had killed thirty-five people, always heard it. Lately, something felt strange. Kyoka made her decision coldly.

Then it was back to the same routine, day after day: training, assassination, training, assassination.

This time, the strange voice grew louder and louder, then enveloped Kyoka.

Kyoka found herself facing a vast starry sky. The System told her she had to play a character card, clear three worlds every month, and earn tips from the Outer Gods to complete the challenge and return to the real world.

What did it mean to clear a world? Kyoka focused on the key point. The System paused, then replied: Clearing a world could mean many things. She could play out every part of the story, fill in the gaps in the plot, or bring victory to either the black side or the white side.

Simply put, she had to choose white or black. Kyoka favored white. She wanted the white side to win.

So Emma from Bad Seed had a sweet, well-behaved doll. Emma loved it and depended on it from the bottom of her heart. She couldn't help herself. Some kinds of love swept you up in an instant, and Emma didn't want to let go. She came up with a new plan: bring her adorable doll back to life.

But Emma, who was doing so much to revive it, didn't know that her doll could move in the darkness. Kyoka yearned for the light. Once Emma had fully stepped into darkness, Kyoka kept sending information to Gojo Satoru and the others, helping them escape safely.

Absolute protectiveness and an absolute longing for the light, both within the doll factory.

The thrilling contradiction delighted the monsters watching the livestream. They gathered together, laughing as they enjoyed this great drama.

[I've got to admit, Naya finally did something worthwhile. This drama is pretty good. In the words of those weak humans, it's a fine movie.]

This was a broken world. Hiding in the sewers, Kyoka thought fearfully. She didn't want to be like this, and she shouldn't have been afraid, but this time her character card had made her feel fear.

Her role was a mermaid in the sewers, a monster covered in tumors and close to death. Curled up in the sewer, Kyoka could feel death drawing near. This time, nothing had even been bound to her, and it was already over.

But fate is unpredictable. While Kyoka was unconscious, a pair of hands gently gathered her up. The only thing she remembered was a pale face and someone wearing a clown nose.

Unfortunately, one day the mermaid was captured and put up for auction. A silver-haired man bought her with a cold expression, then carried Kyoka off to the liquor distillery. A mermaid, Gin thought. She would make a fine gift for the Boss.

The clown, now without Kyoka, grew feral. He left his hometown and headed east...

The sickly crimson hue of blood always clung to Kyoka. A voice kept telling her, You can't leave the darkness. You are a flower that blooms in darkness.
