The Mazu, using the "thought particles" she has collected, constructs "wells."
A "well" uses the "thought particles" produced by a person's murderous intent to construct a virtual world containing that person's subconscious and thoughts.
The people in the "well" have no memories.
But the moment they see an anchor, they remember who they are--
A young man with reddish-purple eyes stands amid the ruins.
Who is he? He doesn't know. Where is he? He doesn't know.
But a man with rusty-red hair is lying in front of him.
The man is already dead.
The young man with reddish-purple eyes stares blankly at him, and speaks against his will--
"I don't remember who I am, but I know the name of the person in front of me."
"His name is Oda Sakunosuke. By recalling his name, I'll remember who I am."
"My name is Dazai. Just Dazai, no surname."
"I'm a... I'm a..."
"Sinner."
P.S.
The Mazu in this story is the one from ID: Invaded. Those of you who've seen it probably know the character. If you haven't, give it a try. The setting might be a little confusing, but it's really good, and after two episodes you'll have a pretty good idea of how it works.
I want to write about how Dazai, Gojo Satoru, and the others react after they're trapped in a "well."
About the "well" setting: Think of a "well" as a dream. In the first layer of the dream, you have no memories. If you enter a "dream within a dream," you'll remember everything. In the original story, the "dream within a dream" begins when a person returns to the moment they first felt murderous intent and acted on it. I've changed that for this story: you'll return to the moment before the most painful memory you wish you could change.
In other words, you'll see Dazai fully aware that this is a dream, that it's fake, while watching Oda, who's alive, drink with him.
The more I explain the setting, the more confusing it gets. Anyway, this is a strange story written to indulge my own imagination, and I'm sharing it with everyone. Smooches:3
