The Immortal Maiden Takes Me Across

Recently, a strange incident occurred at a household in Chang'an.

An elder of the family had passed away. The body was to lie in state for seven days before being taken outside the city for burial at dawn.

But when the time came, the coffin could not be lifted. Blood seeped from it in great quantities, and a snake lay motionless atop the coffin.

That night, an expert came to their home, claiming to have known the deceased in the past.

She was a young female Daoist priest, with delicate features and an aloof, ethereal air, neither happy nor sad, like a celestial maiden descended to earth.

On the high wall of Chang'an's Zhuque Avenue.

That was where Song Daojun first saw her.

She rescued a child from beneath a runaway horse, her figure as graceful as an immortal's.

Later, just as she was about to leave, Song Daojun said mournfully, "Daoist Priest, I think I've fallen prey to a heart demon. It visits me in my dreams every night, tormenting me without end. If there is anyone in this world who can lead me out of this fiery nightmare, it is you alone."

He truly had fallen prey to a heart demon, and only she could save him.
