The latter half of the nineteenth century was a turbulent era. Old and new forces clashed, and old and new ideas collided. Some sang before the curtain, while others watched from behind it. This is the story of someone watching the chaos onstage from behind the curtain, a figure pieced together out of fragments, shrouded in mist, whose name survives in the memories of only a handful of people.
The above is the literary version.
The more straightforward version:
This story is written as a memoir, because I want to write about this person but am not good at describing them directly. So I came up with the idea of telling their story through the eyes of several people. I've already decided to start another story, the main story of Tales from the Bakumatsu, so this one could really be considered a collection of side stories, haha.
Updates weekly.
The protagonist's details are naturally being kept secret, so I won't introduce them here.
It's not a tragedy, but since it's a memoir, a faint sadness is only natural.
