(Since I was submitting two novels for approval in turns and the other one got approved, I'm focusing on updating that one now. This one will stay as a coming-soon project for now. I'll build up some follows, then revise it extensively before continuing.)
Ling Ke, a spirit grass who cultivated diligently for over a hundred years, had finally become strong enough to leave the mountain. But the moment he stepped beyond the barrier, disaster struck: a bolt of heavenly lightning reduced him to ash.
To recover his cultivation, Ling Ke transmigrates into a cultivation novel as a cannon-fodder villain. His entire role in the book is one flashback, explaining how he took the opportunity to abduct Xie Zhuo, the Jade-Carving Immortal, while Xie Zhuo's spiritual power was gone, and bring him back to his sect, hoping to force him to become his Daoist partner. Ultimately, at the Daoist partnership ceremony, Xie Zhuo regains his power and kills him with a single sword strike.
Fortunately, the cannon fodder never actually did anything to Xie Zhuo before his exit. Unfortunately, his mission requires him to say one humiliating line every day.
Day 1: “Immortal, I've decided you're mine!”
Day 2: “I just love wild ones like you, Immortal.”
Day 70: “You're a wood spirit root, and I'm a plant spirit. What are the odds? It can only mean we were born to become Daoist partners.”
Before Ling Ke could turn the entire mountain into a basin, the Daoist partnership ceremony finally arrived. Xie Zhuo had already recovered his spiritual power and was just waiting to run him through with a sword.
As Xie Zhuo entered the bridal chamber and noticed his personal spirit sword on the table, Ling Ke could no longer contain his excitement. Was his mission finally about to be completed?
Xie Zhuo picked up the sword and asked, puzzled, “Didn't I give you my sword? Why did you take it out?”
Then, as if recalling something, Xie Zhuo tilted his head and smiled. He lifted Ling Ke's chin with the tip of the sword. “Oh, I forgot you like them wild.”
From the gong's point of view
When Xie Zhuo was ambushed and lost all his spiritual power, he met a little spirit. The spirit claimed to have admired him for a long time, fussed over him every day, searched for doctors and medicine for him, and insisted they become Daoist partners.
After eight hundred years of being single, Xie Zhuo knew his destined romance had arrived.
It was just that every night, his little Daoist partner had to act out a scene of taking him by force. A little spice between partners was perfectly normal, but every time his partner finished the opening lines, there was never a continuation. No matter what, he refused to take things any further.
Xie Zhuo watched Ling Ke finish that day's performance and prepare to sleep, then asked again, unwilling to give up: “Do we really have to wait until after the ceremony?”
Ling Ke answered at once: “Once the Daoist partnership ceremony is over, whether you want it or not, you'll be mine.”
Looking at the partner beside him who was still in character, the Immortal sighed for what must have been the umpteenth time.
