*Mutual pining / Second chance at love

Huai Yan, a low-profile actress, is a classic beauty with nothing but looks. A beach photoshoot made her an overnight sensation, so her manager seized the opportunity and got her onto a dating reality show.

Manager: Get yourself a couple pairing and you'll be famous! Endorsements! Money!

Huai Yan: For the money, I'll put up with it.

When she arrived on set, Huai Yan froze.

Her pretend love interest was none other than Lu Zhiyuan, the ex-boyfriend she had seduced and then abandoned.

In her youth, Huai Yan was arrogant and domineering, ruling the school like a typical spoiled heiress.

Back then, Lu Zhiyuan came from a poor family and was aloof by nature, but he was also one of the school's top students.

She bet her friends she could win him over in a week.

On the day she confessed, Lu Zhiyuan looked at the love letter in his hands and softly said, "All right."

Huai Yan never expected it would take only three minutes to win him over.

They met again at a seaside villa.

Huai Yan was so embarrassed she could have dug a hole with her toes. She greeted Lu Zhiyuan, now the CEO of a publicly listed company: "Hello..."

Lu Zhiyuan looked up and said coldly, "I'm not doing well."

Huai Yan shrank into herself like a quail, too afraid to say a word.

The day they parted, Huai Yan pushed away from his embrace, left him with a resolute "Goodbye forever," and walked away.

She had gone a long way when she looked back and saw him still standing there, clutching the love letter from the first time she confessed to him, until the rain soaked him through.
