1. When Lin You was nine, her parents divorced and her grandmother passed away. Her childhood playmate, Ruan Ye, took her home with him.

"Youyou, come home with your big brother."

The young boy's clothes were covered in patches, but they couldn't hide his delicate features, his deep-set brows, or the tenderness and affection in his eyes.

As if under a spell, Lin You nodded. She had a home again.

He wore shabby clothes, yet gave her a pretty dress on her birthday.

"Our Youyou is a little princess."

Even when Ruan Ye had only ten yuan in his pocket, he remembered to buy Youyou a rose.

Later, when he was fabulously wealthy, he offered all his money to ask for Youyou's hand.

"Mm. For the rest of my life, I'll only let you boss me around."

"I like you. I want to give you everything best.

But if I've run out of money, I'll buy Youyou a piece of candy."
