[You can check out my next upcoming novel, "After I Provoked the Tyrant, He Did Everything I Said," if you're interested!]
[The story is complete. This was my first attempt, so there are plenty of shortcomings. Thank you so much to everyone who stayed with me until the end!]
As an outstanding employee of the Villain Quick Transmigration Bureau, Lu Zhaoyu did just about every kind of awful thing in his final world.
Not only did he trick the Son of Heaven's Way into giving up his body, money, and feelings, he also betrayed the male lead, carefully arranged to die at his hands, then strolled off without a care.
By his reckoning, the wronged man should have successfully ascended by now. So when Lu Zhaoyu chose a world to retire in, he returned to this one and rejoined the sect as its very worst disciple.
Retirement was easy and happy: he listened to the juniors earnestly urge him to establish his Foundation, then casually snuffed out an ancient demonic aura, quietly taking all the credit.
Even better, in this age when everyone was obsessed with outdoing one another, he found a fellow sect member who shared his enthusiasm for slacking off!
Lu Zhaoyu's eyes filled with tears. "A kindred spirit!"
He always had a little more to say to a kindred spirit.
"Don't let Ji Yingxue's ascension fool you. Back in the day, he'd stand behind me, crying and sniffling as he called me Senior Brother."
"You know that sect? It wouldn't be so glorious today without my contributions!"
"Back when I took your venerable immortal out to pull radishes every day, you lot might not even have been born yet."
Everyone else thought he was talking nonsense and ignored him. Only his fellow sect member listened seriously, then said thoughtfully:
"You and the Venerable Immortal used to be so close. Why did you end up parting ways?"
Lu Zhaoyu paused, then calmly looked away.
Don't pry into a villain's business!
He kept living comfortably and slacking off until one day, he accidentally learned that...
The once-prosperous sect had long since been razed to the ground.
The Demon Realm, which should have been destroyed by the protagonist's sword, had returned.
More importantly, Ji Yingxue had not ascended.
...?
Why had so much of this world's storyline gone off the rails?!
-
After lying dormant for years, the Demon Realm emerged again and declared war on the cultivation world, all to seize a low-ranking outer sect disciple.
Lu Zhaoyu was captured by mistake. Just as his identity was about to be exposed and he was considering faking his death again, his fellow sect member stepped in front of him. A flash of swordlight wiped out the demons in an instant.
The sword technique he used was one he'd once learned alongside Lu Zhaoyu.
The sword in his hand was one Lu Zhaoyu had personally forged and given him.
Amid the clamor of the crowd and the worship of thousands, the cries of "Congratulations on the Venerable Immortal Shangqing's return!" rang through the sky.
His friend turned around, shedding his deliberate disguise to reveal the familiar face Lu Zhaoyu had never been able to forget, and eyes brimming with hatred.
"Junior Brother, where are you planning to run off to this time?"
Lu Zhaoyu's vision went black. He'd taken things too far.
[Reading Guide]
1. A laid-back receiver who tells lies with a straight face x a devoted but obsessive, darkened seme who's an aloof flower on a high peak in public
Important: One-on-one in both past and present lives. They have eyes only for each other!
2. Includes sect brotherhood, childhood sweethearts, identities exposed, and a thrilling game of cat and mouse where the fugitive has nowhere to run.
3. Also known as "I Dragged the Aloof Flower Off His Pedestal and He Turned Dark," "The Plot Went Off the Rails After I Decided to Retire," and "I Broke the Venerable Immortal's Heart, Then Faked My Death."
4. My take on cultivation, with a mountain of original worldbuilding.
5. This is my first attempt, and the romance is practice writing. There are plenty of shortcomings, so criticism is welcome. Thank you very much!
6. Please support the official release.
Content warnings:
1. There were circumstances behind what happened in their past lives, but the receiver really was a bit of a heartbreaker.
2. In his past life, the receiver's goal was to help the seme ascend, in accordance with the plot. The things he did that hurt the seme were meant to provide him with resources and make him stronger.
3. Neither character is perfect, but both will change for the other. The past-life story is inevitably angsty, while the present life is a process of mutual salvation. The overall tone is sweet.

"After I Provoked the Tyrant, He Did Everything I Said"
Ye Anhuai transmigrated into a novel and became the bandit leader's son, a cannon-fodder character. The original owner was arrogant and domineering, and after offending the crown prince, his entire family was sentenced to death.
To stay alive, the young master decided to keep away from the capital. His little life was peaceful enough.
Until one day, he found a man covered in blood.
The man lay motionless on the ground, barely clinging to life.
Ye Anhuai stared at him, thinking hard without so much as blinking.
I want to save him, but he's so dirty (about to walk away without a care). But I can't leave him to die (so he turns around to think about it). But he's really so dirty (disgusted.jpg, pacing back and forth). Maybe I should go get someone else (turns and leaves).
In a flash, the man grabbed the hem of his clean clothes, smearing it with blood.
Ye Anhuai: "..." Frantically pinching his philtrum.
He had never saved anyone before. Even after finally dragging the man home, he had no idea what to do. Still, he politely and tactfully asked:
"If I give you bandages, can you wrap yourself up?"
"If I give you water, can you clean yourself up?"
"If I give you food, can you stay alive on your own?"
"..."
Luckily, although the man looked intimidating, his temper was unexpectedly mild. No matter how outrageous Ye Anhuai's demands were, he agreed to every one.
Ye Anhuai was extremely fussy about what he ate, wore, and used. He was spoiled, demanding, and knew how to push his luck. Even his father was driven nearly to distraction by him, but this servant answered every request and gave him whatever he wanted.
Pampered to excess, Ye Anhuai grew more and more arrogant and unruly.
Until one day, he saw his father respectfully kneel before the servant who had always obeyed him without question, crying out in anguish, "Your Highness, the Crown Prince! Huai Bao is still just a child!"
Ye Anhuai stared blankly. Remembering how he'd lorded it over the man day after day, he felt his vision go black and sucked in a sharp breath. He decided to flee by train that very night.
But Ye Anhuai had never run away from home before. This time, he was so focused on escaping that he didn't even know how much loose change he had on him.
When he came to his senses, he was sitting in a row with the beggars by the roadside.
Tears in his eyes, Ye Anhuai grew angrier the more he thought about it. He figured he might as well take that scoundrel of a crown prince down with him. Anything was better than sitting here in the cold wind!
But he had barely taken a couple of steps before hunger made his vision swim. Just as he was about to fall flat on his face, an arm suddenly reached out and pulled him into an embrace.
A familiar voice sounded above him. A warm hand brushed his cheek, its owner asking urgently, "Are you hurt? Where does it hurt? Are you cold?!"
Ye Anhuai lowered his head, unable to speak, his nose stinging.
In front of everyone, Ji Muheng dropped to one knee, straightened his clothes, and gently coaxed him. "Aheng was too late. Young Master, shall we go home?"
A pure-sugar sweet romance, with an older love interest.
A spoiled, delicate beauty x a loyal crown prince who's warm on the outside, cold within, and has been plotting this reunion for a long time.
"What you thought was a chance encounter was actually a reunion I'd been planning for a long time."
Theme: Even when you're at your lowest, don't give up easily.
Hey, the setting is quite good, but I feel like the author can no longer write anymore in the later stage, so I want to finish it quickly, but there are a lot of things that I haven't explained yet, but it's okay, please do your best.
It's a bit tiring to watch, and I feel like the two of them finally finished it by now.
I feel that the main plot is advancing inexplicably. It's just child's play. The plot of the big boss and Shou's father is simply a handful. The author probably planned a very huge world view and laid out a big picture but he can't take it back. I feel a little tired watching it. The feelings of attack and Shou are also inexplicable. I fell in love without explaining why in my previous life. I feel like all the battles are like child's play. I hope the author will get better and better. In fact, I'm tired after watching half of it. Come on.
The ending is a bit sloppy TT, it feels like the two of them had very little intimacy.
It's probably because everyone knows that the attack is up to something bad, so it's okay for a person to still have a pure love and a secret crush (face covering)
Spread the flowers, but I feel like the follow-up ends a little too quickly
The ending was too hasty, and I felt that everyone was very tired, and then it was over as soon as the luck and the main god came out. However, the background of the article is the new crown epidemic. There have been sheep and sheep all the way, and I have been isolated. It is not easy to have such a stable mentality and the ending. Come on, Dad, I look forward to more of your works.
There was very little interaction between them after the conflict was resolved. They were always dealing with things.
Ah, when will the new article be published? I'm so looking forward to it.
What! I just realized that this is DaDa's first novel. It's so beautiful. The writing is so good 😍. I really like it. Oh, and DaDa also wants to read the extras. I still want to read 🤩.
