The Sickly Assistant Only Wants to Follow the Plot

#Younger man + SC 1v1 + groveling, but no switching love interests#

Lou Chen transmigrated into an old-school BE novel as the devoted assistant with a crush on the male lead.

He did his job diligently, taking bullets and blows for him, willing to endure a lifetime of chronic illness.

But according to the plot, after the male lead died, he would have to raise the male lead's son until he faked his own death and completed his mission.

"You're just a dog my dad keeps!"

The little brat was childish and stubborn, baring his teeth with a wary look on his face.

Lou Chen sighed. "Drink your milk, or you'll get a spanking."

On the night before he faked his death, Lou Chen coughed lightly and poured the little brat one last glass of milk.

"Hypocrite!" The little brat was already a head taller than him. His voice was impatient. "Why are you bothering me when you should be resting?"

With a pale face, Lou Chen laid out all the documents on the table, including his will.

"Be good from now on, okay?"

At thirteen, Bai Du inherited his father's estate.

The company, the money, and the cold-faced assistant Lou Chen, who was like a living King of Hell.

Bai Du had known from childhood that Lou Chen was aloof, quiet, and disciplined. He was his father's most silent and loyal dog, and the Bai family's sharpest hidden blade.

So Bai Du thought he would make this hypocrite wallow in filth and sink into the abyss.

But this man, so powerful in every other way, indulged him without limit. No matter how awful or unreasonable Bai Du was, Lou Chen would only say, "Stop messing around."

The day Lou Chen died, rain poured down in torrents.

Bai Du watched helplessly as that frail body slowly fell, blood staining the cold seawater red.

Even in death, Lou Chen wouldn't spare him a glance.

That day, the youngest heir of the Bai family stood with bloodshot eyes.

He went completely mad.

[Bonus Scene]

Bai Du: "Bastard! Dog! Why does he get to make me do my homework?!"

Lou Chen: "Because of the System's mission."

Bai Du: "Why is he so nice to me? Does he love my dad that much?"

Lou Chen: "It's to keep the plot on track."

Bai Du: "Sniff, sob, big brother, don't go! Don't leave me, sob..."

Lou Chen: "It's my personal time. No work talk, okay?"

"He was jealous of that dead man, day and night."

"So jealous he was on the verge of madness."
