Blurb:
A mysterious comfort shop for cute creatures has opened in Seoul. It serves entertainers and staff in the entertainment industry who are under a lot of pressure. The shop is known throughout the industry by word of mouth for its privacy and effectiveness. It's small, without even a sign, but it has plenty of rules.
Shop owner: Zheng Jingyi, a former screenwriter
Staff: All kinds of cute creatures who earn their keep by acting adorable, being affectionate, and rolling around. They include, but are not limited to, cats, dogs, hamsters, rabbits, parrots, and hognose snakes...
Shop rules:
1. Customers must work in the entertainment industry.
2. Customers must be referred by regulars.
3. The cute staff are busy and their schedules are tight, so book in advance.
4. Any actions that harm the staff are forbidden. Anyone caught will have the security footage made public.
5. The cute staff are not for sale, but can be adopted with their approval.
Little scene one:
A Samoyed curled up on a bay window watched two female idols nearby, cuddling a Munchkin cat and a lop-eared rabbit as they watched a TV show. The two cute creatures were exceptionally well-behaved, staring at the screen with the same focus as humans.
The Samoyed's snow-white paw fumbled through the thick fur on its body and poked at a giant flying squirrel. "Hey, little rodent, those two beauties make us watch TV with them every time they come. Can't they watch at home?"
The flying squirrel planted its little foot against the dog's belly. It didn't hurt at all. "Idiot! Say that again! I'm not a rodent!"
Their commotion disturbed the cat and lop-eared rabbit, who were completely absorbed in the show. They were used to this by now.
The Munchkin cat shifted, lying on its back with all four paws in the air as its human rubbed its belly. "No wonder their sales have been at the bottom every month..."
The lop-eared rabbit held up its own ears and stroked them twice. "I can't understand how those two childish idiots passed Jingyi's interview..."
Little scene two:
After closing, all kinds of cute creatures sat in rows on the floor of the spacious reception room. The young owner tapped the table to bring back the staff who had been daydreaming. "Since certain employees have been slacking off this week and made zero sales, your freeze-dried treats and canned food are all being cut in half. That's the reward for our excellent employees! Meeting adjourned!"
The flying squirrel and hognose snake snapped back to reality. The sky is falling! I want to appeal! I'll take this all the way to heaven!
