Qu Fancheng always thought she'd live an ordinary, stable life, graduating from college and then pressing buttons at a rural nuclear power plant until retirement.

Before she could even graduate, debt collectors came to her door with knives. The mother who had raised her for twenty-three years suddenly told her she wasn't her biological daughter and should stay away from them and have nothing more to do with the family.

Grabbing her mother's elbow, she frantically said she could help support the family, but her drunk father kicked her out of the house.

She took odd jobs everywhere, but one workplace after another went under. In the end, she had no choice but to find work at a construction site, where she threw out her back just days after starting.

"I just want an easy, legal job that pays well and fast." Qu Fancheng bought a one-yuan electronic lucky carp on a shopping website and made a wish. Then she met Qiao Anzhou.

This beautiful woman who seemed to have fallen from the sky grabbed her hand the moment they met and declared with absolute certainty, "I've found her, my leading lady."

Qu Fancheng's first impression of Qiao Anzhou: What a beautiful woman. What a shame she's not quite right in the head.

Qiao Anzhou's first impression of Qu Fancheng: What a beautiful woman. Mom, I found the woman I want to film.

"Would you like to try getting to know me?" Qiao Anzhou paused in a way that was very easy to misunderstand. "My film..."

"No." Qu Fancheng refused without hesitation. Some kind of honey trap or beauty scheme? She wasn't falling for that.

"Don't reject me so quickly." When Qiao Anzhou got anxious, she would put her right hand in her pocket and fumble around. Her fingers found the project flyer her mother had tucked in there.

"Come join my project." Qiao Anzhou handed Qu Fancheng the crumpled flyer. "How much do you want a month? Name your price."

Virtual streamer... virtual girl group? Qu Fancheng couldn't quite wrap her head around it, but seeing how sincere Qiao Anzhou seemed, she licked her lips. "Can I ask for any amount?"

"You can." Qiao Anzhou stared intently at Qu Fancheng. "As long as you do what I say."

Qu Fancheng fell into the trap of money. After signing, she suddenly realized: Did I just sign my life away?
