Recommended upcoming novel: The Cousin Young Master Is Not What He Seems, and He’s Going to Be No Use in Bed
Everyone knows that the second young master of the Meng family is a born bad seed. He defies his elders and lives a dissolute life. A few years ago, he nearly beat someone to death, and only Lord Meng’s payment of a thousand strings of coins saved him. A man like that has drifted through life in a daze, and now he’s already past twenty.
A man like him ought to rot in filth. Meng Hezhi used to think so too, until he met his own bodhisattva.
His bodhisattva was beautiful, with a pair of bright, clear eyes that sparkled when she smiled. The only problem was, she didn’t see him at all.
She was a daughter of the Shangshu Tang family, betrothed to the Chen family since childhood.
A man like Meng Hezhi could never lay a hand on her. He knew that better than anyone. He didn’t even dare entertain such an improper thought. Knowing he had no chance with his bodhisattva, he lived more and more carelessly.
But who could have expected disaster to strike the Shangshu family? The Shangshu was thrown into prison, and the Chen family broke off the engagement.
After all the twists and turns, the marriage ended up with the Meng family. When Meng Hezhi heard the news, he thought he must be dreaming.
On the first day Miss Tang was brought to the Meng residence, Meng Hezhi struggled to hide his delight and treated a young lady with gentleness and courtesy for the first time in his life.
Tang Shuang looked at the notorious second young master of the Meng family and didn’t think he was as outrageous as the rumors claimed.
A maid accidentally knocked over the tea, spilling it all over the second young master. Tang Shuang couldn’t help noticing the cold look in the man’s eyes. She hurriedly rose and left, her face filled with alarm as she tried to get away from him.
Meng Hezhi watched her retreating back, dazed.
That night, the second young master of the Meng family did something outrageous again: he climbed into Tang Shuang’s room.
“Tang Shuang, don’t look at my elder brother. Look at me, okay?”
As he rambled on, he failed to notice Tang Shuang’s eyelashes tremble ever so slightly. He didn’t know that she had always been a light sleeper.
Later, the dissolute second young master of the Meng family seemed to become a different person overnight. He spent his days and nights in the study, reading by candlelight, and never again went off to drink himself senseless in the pleasure quarters. In just two or three years, he had become a widely praised gentleman of outstanding talent.
He overturned the verdict against the Shangshu family and, through his own efforts, held up the entire Tang family, giving Tang Shuang a place to stand.
Bonus Scene
The first time Tang Shuang met Meng Hezhi, she had gotten lost at the Lantern Festival.
Swept away by the crowd, she held a lotus lantern in her hand. She sensed a burly man following her and realized she must have fallen into someone’s trap.
In her panic, another lantern suddenly appeared in front of her, lighting up her confused, frightened eyes.
Without a word, the man pressed a short sword into her palm, then stood in front of her. Seeing this, the burly man behind her disappeared into the crowd again.
Meng Hezhi said nothing. He only pointed ahead. She glanced over and saw the household servants hurrying toward them.
She was about to turn and thank him, but he had already walked away, leaving only the words, “Take care, miss.”
Tang Shuang didn’t know that after returning home, the man was so happy he couldn’t sleep all night.

A cousin young master came to stay at Vice Minister Mo’s home while preparing for the imperial examinations. Everything about him was fine, except his poor health. He was always sickly...
Fortunately, he was exceptionally talented, tall and handsome, and, most importantly, very mild-mannered...
Just the sort of person who could put up with Mo Zhi’s spoiled temper.
Vice Minister Mo looked him over again and again, and really did start considering the match.
Mo Zhi, however, would rather die than agree. Only she knew what kind of scheming heart lay beneath that untroubled smile.
She caught him “meeting a married woman in secret.”
Then she saw him “bullying the weak and forcing himself on women.”
And she even discovered him “murdering someone and burying the body.”
Whenever he saw her, he smiled at her, his pale skin hiding a hint of menace.
Just thinking about a man like him made Mo Zhi shudder. All she wanted was to stay as far away from him as possible, but somehow he kept appearing in front of her every day.
Unable to escape, she could only shrink back and softly greet him, “Hello, Cousin.”
The man’s gaze was deep as he studied Mo Zhi, dark and still as ink. “Hello, Cousin.”
Mo Zhi finally found herself a good husband, but just a few days before the wedding, she suddenly disappeared.
When Mo Zhi woke up, she was in his arms. The man leaned close to her neck, his breathing deep and quick, and chuckled. “Cousin, this time it’s your turn to suffer.”

Tang Ti, Tang Wenbo, Tang Yan. . . There are four people in the family, and three of them can't carry it clearly. . .
Ah, Lao Lu and A Nuan = Yang Buhui and Yin Laoliu? The Gao Dynasty forced his wits down, and the person who took over the legitimate son turned out to be innocent and in love. Tang Ti was really disgusting, and Lao Lu and Lao Qi 67 had two big grievances.
Tang Ti and Gao Chao are so disgusting! What a perfect match
Can the author of the final finale update it one after another? Every time he updates suddenly every ten days or so, I forget all the previous content. It's so boring.
Tang Yan's character is a bit contradictory, and his behavior is quite scummy.
No, no, no, you can still act like a monster
Wuhu, great, Mr. Lu has thought about it and finally won't be tired of running around for other people's words, although it's a bit late.
It's a bit cool. Lu Fu finally figured it out.
