Song Yiyan has a dream. He dreams that he skips class, gets into fights, and never studies. After failing the college entrance exam, everyone despises him, and when he dies far from home, there's no one to claim his body.
The dream feels so real that Song Yiyan wakes up drenched in sweat. On the spot, he decides to turn over a new leaf and work hard!
So he studies day and night, but after all that effort... he still comes in dead last on the monthly exam.
His friend suggests, "Aren't you and Lu Huaijiang childhood friends? Ask him to help you."
Lu Huaijiang is the famous campus heartthrob and top student at No. 8 High School. But even more famous is his awful relationship with Song Yiyan: they have a small argument every three days and a big one every five, and even when they happen to run into each other, they sneak in a kick. Song Yiyan would ask him for help? Song Yiyan would rather die out there, or jump from here, than do that... All right, his life matters more. A real man knows when to bend.
Since he's already going to swallow his pride, Song Yiyan decides to go all in and shamelessly pretend to have amnesia, then cling to Lu Huaijiang for help.
He walks up to Lu Huaijiang with a test paper covered in zeroes. "I heard we're childhood friends? I can't do this problem. Give me a hand, would you?"
Lu Huaijiang glances at him and says, "We're not childhood friends."
Song Yiyan turns to leave. "Okay, sorry to bother you."
Lu Huaijiang grabs him. "We're not childhood friends. We're boyfriends who've been secretly dating for years."
Song Yiyan: "???"
I'm amnesiac, not blind!
Later, thanks to Lu Huaijiang's special help, Song Yiyan finally goes from being at the bottom of the class year after year to getting into a top-tier university.
His friend excitedly asks for an interview: "How does it feel?"
Song Yiyan holds his aching lower back. "Don't ask. Let's just say the price was too steep for me to bear."
