Xu Muxiao takes someone in.
This person is a little strange. Even when he's injured, he doesn't cry out or complain, and won't put medicine on his wounds.
He also stays up all night.
Sure enough, just as Xu Muxiao finally falls asleep, a sudden knock at the door wakes her up again.
Only then does Xu Muxiao realize that she may be far too careless about her safety. How could she let a strange man stay in her home? What if he does something bad to her?
The knocking continues, and the more Xu Muxiao thinks about it, the more frightened she gets.
So she decides to take an empty water cup with her. If anything goes wrong, she can hit him over the head with it.
But why isn't he following the script? She has only just unlocked the door when the person outside is already turning the handle and opening it.
The unexpected turn leaves Xu Muxiao flustered. Instinctively, she raises the cup to throw it at him.
The next second, a strong hand clamps around her wrist.
Then Mo Jing takes the cup from her and walks into the living room as if he owns the place, leaving only one sentence behind: “I'm thirsty.”
Afterward, Xu Muxiao curls up at one end of the sofa, watching Mr. Mo leisurely drink the water. A question suddenly pops into her head.
She taps the table, trying to start a conversation with him.
She means to ask tactfully, but the words come out as: “Are you mentally stable?”
In the awkward silence, Mo Jing suddenly leans forward, as if he's about to pounce on her.
Xu Muxiao panics. Without stopping to think, she darts to the far end of the room, away from Mo Jing, and covers her head tightly with both hands.
But as the seconds tick by, she seems... fine???
She slowly looks up, only to see Mo Jing pouring himself another cup of water.
Just as the cup reaches his lips, Mo Jing replies, neither harshly nor gently,
“I'm more normal than you.”
