One Day, I Remembered I Was the Demon King

Blurb: El thinks the most admirable thing he's ever done is grow up alongside the famous hero, Alix, who was prophesied to "kill the Demon King." That naturally led to him being recruited into the adventuring party, where he befriended his companions and fought alongside them through blood and thorns. They worked together seamlessly, won countless honors, and helped countless people. But in the end, they met the fate everyone should have expected: annihilation. People say the Demon King cannot be defeated. There is no room to question it. * Alix has been secretly in love with his childhood friend for years. Everyone knows except El. The hero is like a clingy giant dog, everyone says, going out of his way every day to snuggle up to El. Given how lovey-dovey the two of them are, not getting married immediately would defy all reason. But Alix doesn't dare confess. He's afraid of ruining his relationship with El, even if it's only a possibility. He keeps putting it off until the very end, when they're trapped in the Demon King's domain with no hope of getting out safely. El quietly looks up at him, and Alix falls apart beneath that unaccusing gaze. Alix swallows the words "I love you" on the tip of his tongue and says, "I'm sorry." He's the hero. He'll sacrifice himself to give his companions one last chance. * The Demon King has lived for tens of thousands of years. He's unbearably lonely, so from time to time he wipes his own memories and goes out among humans, just for a little entertainment. This time, his name is El. And at last, he remembers everything. * "The hero killed the Demon King, but the story wasn't over yet." CP: World-weary, slow-witted Demon King gong x brave, puppy-like hero shou who throws himself into everything Reader notes: // Gong-centric, equally matched, happy ending // A mix of sweetness and angst. The blurb covers the early plot, but there are plenty of flashbacks // "A puppy will trust you and choose you unconditionally" Theme: Loving life
